Amazing on all fronts. The proprietor was so friendly and informative and spoke English so he could take us through the food and wine he had in his store. They only serve local produce-- and it was spectacular. We had the cutting board of local meats and cheeses, an assortment of jam, honey, and pestos, and a local red wine as well as a couple of glasses of Zibbibo... And a delightful orange scented rocket fuel. He had fresh olive oil to go with the cutting board and, having come from dinner at a fine dining restaurant just the night before, this olive oil held its own against the posher oil we'd had the previous night. Grassy, fresh, but light, it was utterly delightful and a testament to how seriously this establishment takes local produce. Our evening was a celebration of Sicilian produce and hospitality. Both of which were deeply moving. And affordable. What made it a most wonderful experience was that for just a few hours, a bunch of stuffy Asians felt Italian. A must visit.

We are visiting Agrigento for two weeks and wanted to find vino sfuso (wine on tap that could be bought in bulk). We found Marco’s place online and literally it was everything we had hoped and more. You can bring big water bottles or buy there for .60. There’s a good selection of wines on tap, which you can taste before having your bottle filled. The wine is great and sold by the liter at very reasonable prices. We walked maybe 15 min. from the Via Atenea area (mostly flat) and came back with two liters of white and two liters of red. We also picked up some lovely sauces from Montallegro. They also have food and a nice courtyard for having a glass of wine. Honestly the best part of the whole experience was hanging out for a while with Marco, who is a fabulous host and all around nice guy. He even taught us how to properly say pistachio! I highly, highly recommend a visit to this amazing wine shop. 🍷

Marco - what a guy! We were desperate for a beer, a pizza and somewhere to watch the football and found the best place in Agrigento.
