Big Pizza — Restaurant in Alghero

The food's alright – the pizza is pretty average, just what you'd expect from a place like that. However, the off-menu prices are absolutely ridiculous. A couple of pies will set you back around €8 each, and sandwiches with the same basic ingredients – cheese and tomatoes – cost the same. Essentially, you're paying London prices for something you could get elsewhere for half of it.

Among numerous pizzerie we have visited during our trip through Sardinia and the mainland Italy, that was really the Number One. It was simply delicious, crispy and fresh. On top of this, we arrived just before the mid-day break and pizza was no longer available as the oven was already switched off. Excellent little restaurant with pizza and focaccia run by very kind people. We tried the Mameli, the Quattro stagione and the Diavola (please see photos). They were all delicious.
