DO NOT EAT HERE. We ordered fish, not knowing that it doesn’t come with some side vegetables (we do not speak italian as our first language, nor are we super familiar with italian food culture. So we should have ordered „contorni“ apparently, if we wanted some side dishes like potatoes or such. The waiter didn’t ask us about it nor did he give us some suggestions on the menu, so what came to me as my plate of food was just one fish flat on a plate. No greens, no vegetables, no nothing. It was just one fish. It was too salty, and really nothing special. On our receipt at the end, this fish costed 30 Euros. My wife had simple tagliatelle with mushrooms. This plate of food was 20 Euros. We also paid for “due coperti”, but it was 5 Euros per person! This is crazy! It was not a lot of food, not great food, but we paid 80 Euros for everything. The worst thing was how lethargic the waiter and the boss of the restaurant were. We asked if we could pay. We waited outside for 10 minutes, the restaurant was almost completely empty, but the waiter kept talking to that one other guest, that was sitting inside the restaurant. As we were on the terrace, we could see him inside, talking to the other guest. For 10 minutes, we waited for our payment to be done, but nobody came to us. So my wife got up and went inside and when she told the boss of the restaurant, that we were waiting for a long time, he just made stupid excuses. Do not waste your time. If you try to avoid the high maintenance restaurants at Porto Cervo, I understand that you look for alternatives, but...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE! The owner is absolutely disrespectful, just see how he treats people who give constructive criticism. Go to the lower star reviews and you will see how the owner of this place answers people who criticise something. This is NOT how you run a business nor how a business owner should do his job / treat his customers. He even tells you not to come back, once you offered your experience here on Google. This restaurant is not managed professionally, nor does it deserve any attention whatsoever. Hopefully, this place stays as empty as it was when we were there last night and eventually will be closed down! There are so many people out there who think they can treat you in such disgraceful manner. Just go and read the one star review of my husband Claude and then go and read the answer of the owner. I hope this review will warn you and keep you away from this absolute disgrace of a restaurant! I REPEAT: DO...
Read moreLa Petronilla…the whole experience was just terrible. To start, the steak served to me smelled and tasted aged—but not in the sophisticated, dry-aged way I’d hoped. It was downright rancid. While the owner did eventually remove the steak from the bill, he had the audacity to slap on a ridiculous 30€ charge for two small spritzes of olive oil used to dip breadsticks. You see what he did there.
If you're looking for attentive service, look elsewhere. The owner spent most of the evening outside puffing away on cigarettes, barely paying any attention to his diners. The food was mediocre at best, and with so many fantastic dining options in Porto Cervo, I strongly recommend steering clear of La Petronilla. There are far better places to spend your time and enjoy a meal worth remembering....
