We came here for dinner and were disappointed by the service personnel. The waiter came to our table to take the orders, I told him that we would like fish starters followed by truffle pasta as the main course. With the fish starter I asked for champagne by the glass and told him that we would like a bottle of Ornellaia with the pasta. He said that we should tell him our red wine choice again later as he would probably forget until then (I didn’t know if he was joking but now that I know better I find this quite unprofessional, especially when ordering such a bottle at a place that wants to be an exclusive wine shop in the heart of Porto Cervo). Starters and champagne came, all fine. Then, for quite some time, our and other waiters were busy with another table (only 3 tables including ours were occupied), chatting and tasting different wines to find something the lady over there would like. We felt like they forgot about us. In the meantime, and they were quite quick, the pasta came but we had no wine because no one ever asked us again. And frankly, I don’t think that I, the guest, should be the one reminding the waiter to get me a 300€ bottle of wine with my main course as asked for in the very beginning. Now that the pasta was there, I saw no point in reminding him of the bottle because in the end, until they would have brought it to the table, I would have had cold pasta which wouldn’t do a wine like that any justice. When the owner came with the bill and asked if everything was alright, I told him about the situation. He did not seem to be overly happy with how our waiter handled this and called him to the table. When the owner asked him in Italian how something like this could happen, our waiter shamelessly rolled his eyes, said that we could have asked another waiter or remind him. All in all, we ended up paying 200€ for a two course dinner and had no wine with our main course. The owner apologized more than once and I felt a little sorry for him. They should really think about getting rid of staff like that as it’s bad for business and must not happen at such a place. Starters were fresh and good, truffle pasta was quite oily, had...
Read moreFrom the moment I walked in, I knew this was going to be a special experience. The warm glow of the lights, the rustic wooden tables, and the subtle aroma of fresh basil and garlic set the perfect stage for what turned out to be one of the best Italian meals I’ve had outside of Italy.
The service was flawless—attentive without being intrusive. Our waiter not only recommended the perfect wine pairing but also explained the origins of several dishes, which made the meal feel personal and authentic.
We started with the burrata, which was impossibly creamy and paired with tomatoes so fresh they tasted like they had just been picked from a sun-drenched garden. The homemade pasta was the true star of the evening—delicate, perfectly al dente, and enveloped in a rich sauce that balanced depth and freshness in every bite. The truffle tagliatelle in particular was unforgettable, each forkful bursting with earthy richness.
For the main course, the ossobuco melted in the mouth, served over a saffron risotto that was buttery and fragrant. Every plate was beautifully presented, yet comforting—just like Italian food should be.
We finished with a classic tiramisù that struck the perfect balance between espresso bitterness and velvety mascarpone sweetness. By the time we left, I felt as though I had just been transported to a family-run trattoria in the heart of Tuscany.
If you’re looking for an Italian restaurant that goes beyond just a meal and delivers an experience, this is it. Authentic, elegant, and deeply satisfying—it’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to...
Read moreI came here two nights ago and had dinner with my family and I left a nice review. Today we came and they made us a great meal for lunch.
My only complain, the owner (older gentleman) when it was time to pay, came over with his credit card machine and ask if I’d like to leave a tip. Of course I’m put on the spot and I say yes. Just because I’m American doesn’t mean I want to pay a tip. In fact we are annoyed of overpaying and tipping constantly and when we come to Europe we enjoy not having to constantly tip. Yet some establishments take advantage of our custom and ask us. If I can give you any advice: Don’t do this. No American likes it. It’s really insulting to ask me to pay extra, I guarantee the owner would never ask this from another Italian man or a French or German.
Other than that, the atmosphere, good, staff all...
