Hotel Relais De La Costa — Hotel in Alzachèna/Arzachena

We struggled to find the hotel initially as when we arrived there were workmen still building the steps in to the hotel and no signs.

We couldn't use the paddling pools and poolside area when we arrived as this hadn't been finished. We were told renovations would be finished by the next morning though they continued until we left 5 nights later. Guests staying by the pool were treated to sawing and drilling all day - not exactly the relaxing setting we had imagined.

We had booked secure parking but when arrived it appeared this was being used to store the building materials so had to park 5 mins down the road.

There were no smoke alarms, fire alarms or any visible fire safety - appreciate things on the continent are a little more lapse than the UK but with the recent Grenfell tower tragedy.

My husband I recently stayed at the hotel for three nights. The service was fantastic, we received a lovely upgrade upon arrival, the rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable and Alessio, the concierge, and rest of the team were fantastic. They contacted us upon arrival, scheduled us a car for less than a taxi, which was a very high end Mercedes. From the start it was fantastic. The manager of the hotel introduced himself upon arrival and they went above and beyond to make our stay in Sardinia fantastic, we wish we had stayed longer. They immediately got us rental car dropped off to the hotel, recommended fantastic restaurants and beaches, and were able to charter us a boat for the day which was the absolute highlight our or anniversary trip! Very good service with employees always striving for customers best. Especially Luca the bar manager needs to be mentioned- he always had the right restaurant recommendations available- no matter whether we requested classy or down to earth - we got what we were looking for. The hotel is completely newly renovated and we stayed in a pool suite - which is fantastic to relax and enjoy privacy - however- also the 2 pools are never crowded. Great benefit is that the hotel offers sunbed and fatboy service at Long beach- so if you want to hang out at the beach - you don’t need to bother that your hotel has no direct beach access.
