Pizzeria da Serafino e Giovanni — Restaurant in Alzachèna/Arzachena

Very disappointing experience. Tried to book earlier in the day - no bookings for 2 people. Waited 45 minutes for a table. We came the week before with family and returned specifically for pizza scrocchiarella (a particular dough, two types of pizza, for two people). My Italian sister in law mentioned the week before they try not to take orders scrocchiarella. When we tried to order the waiter said it would be a 1.5 hour wait. After speaking with the kitchen after we asked to confirm, he said it’s not available. This was disappointing having come especially for that pizza and waited so long. A third time we asked how’s it possible it’s not available.

Shortly after our alternative pizzas arrived, the two tables next to us (6 people) ordered scrocchiarella. Immediately accepted. No 1.5 hour wait, or let me check with the kitchen….

When we asked the waiter about this, the manager came over and they made a baseless excuse that it was busy and the kitchen didn’t know what was happening. It was some kind of mix up apparently.

We have no idea what the motive is, but it seems to be something to do with being a 2 person table - seems curious my sister in law knew this was the case.

Aside from that, the pizza was good and came quickly. Prices are slightly higher than expected for a pizza.

Safe to say that neither us nor our extended family of 16 people that come multiple times per year will be coming back (as we’ve told...

Probably the cheapest place to eat in Olbia, and their pizzas are relatively big that’s why there are many visits to this place. Our hotel told us that they do not take reservations however when we got there, many tables were reserved. So they only reserve the tables for locals and their friends not tourists. The service is super slow even though we were the 3rd on the wait list, we were finally be seated after 1 hour. Even when the heavy rain started they refused to have people to be seated on those several empty tables because they were reserved and some people on the line outside got soaked wet. Think about it, many people take cab or hotel shuttles to travel around so when the rain starts they can’t leave and take a cab to go back given the cab situation on the island. The pizza is nothing special and because of how they treat the customers as they don’t want them to come back, I wouldn’t go back to this place....

Overall good experience. Made a few ordering mistakes as we don’t speak Italian. Don’t order a vegan burger by accident. The Pacifica burger is literally a gluten burger. The fried eggplant from the vegan burger was good but the green burger was not good to us. Vegans would probably love it. It was moist and beautiful. The marinara pizza was pretty but was sooooo many tomatoes. The pepperoni and onion pizza was perfecto. The pizza crusts were nicely don’t. Maybe too thin for me. The service was stellar. The people working were quick and kind. Really nice bus staff and waiter. We were sat immediately without a reservation. The quality of food was very highly. The fries were so yummy. We ordered Coke w ice and lemon. Was nice and cold. The young man running everywhere was so sweet and smiled...
