Il tempio ristorante pizzeria — Restaurant in Assisi

If I could give this place less than 5 stars I would. I witnessed a waiter (or the owner of the restaurant, I don't know) literally kick my brother out of the restaurant when he and my sister-in-law pulled up a chair next to our table to place their order and eat with us. This horrible person approached them in the most rude and disrespectful manner and told them that if they weren't going to eat, they would have to leave. This guy assumed they wouldn't order anything and that they would just be occupying his precious empty chairs (of which there were many, and now I understand why). He did this by making an eat sign with his hand. Furthermore, the salad and pizza we ordered were nothing short of what you would normally get at Pizza Hut. In fact, the salad was prepared and presented as if it came straight from the ground where it was grown to the plate, bland and tasteless. We immediately asked for the check and left. This "ristorabte" doesn't represent the kindness, good manners, and excellent cuisine of the other places around this wonderful town of Assisi. Don't go there; you won't miss out on anything good. And if you decide to make the terrible decision to go, don't even think about pulling up a chair at the table to eat with your family, because this bulldog put you out...

Worst experience ever. I travel a lot and this was one of the most unpleasant experiences.

We ordered a couple of glasses of red wine, lasagna, and pizza. Wine was served HOT. At first, we thought that it might be a hot glass just after the dishwasher, but the glass was cold compared to the wine.

Lasagna was dry and chewy on the sides and soggy and tasteless inside. Even Ryanair lasagna was better in comparison. Pizza was just basic. The same you can get in supermarket in frozen food section.

But the worst thing is the owner. He started arguing with us that we don't understand, and that is the best lasagna and service. He didn't want to hear any of our arguments, always interrupting us. His main argument was: "if you want to complain, do it in Italian!".

We felt like idiots fed with frozen food and being convinced that the problem is in us.

Such a fabulous restaurant! We have been her two times this week, while here in Assisi. The first time was a stop in for lunch. Had a fabulous pizza (the ITALIA) Beautifully displayed, and even better tasting ! We then decided to spend our New Years Eve dinner here also. Reservation at 9.PM was honored promptly. The service was spectacular. Rone was our server both times. Tonight, we asked him what his favorite meal was and we both ordered that. FANTASTIC!!! Rone recommended the Tagliata con Nicola e Granada. It was So delicious!!! Paired with the Patate Arrosto and Broccoli, it was quite filling, and incredibly delicious! Then dessert… the Crema Catalana and the Millefoglie composts con crema chantilly was AMAZING! Sir beautifully presented. Service both times was amazing. I highly recommend this...
