Read moreThis restaurant is a tourist trap! If I could give a zero rating that is what is deserved. The host acted as though he was doing us a favor by allowing us to eat here. It was 8:45 pm and although we did not have a reservation there were at least a dozen nice tables available. Even still he decided to place us by the entrance next to the soft drink refrigerator. While we were there no one came in to be seated so the fact that we had no reservation should have made no difference. It was actually as if we were being punished for not having made a reservation. That said, we then waited for at least 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order. Once received, the food was average at best. No one ever came back to see if we wanted or needed anything else. We finished our meal since we were hungry and then waited and waited for someone to check on us and to obtain our check. Finally I had to waive down our original server who was sitting at the front cash register in order to get our check. When he saw me he literally shouted across the room for me to wait a minute as he was busy. This restaurant is easily one of the most mediocre (at best) dining experiences I have ever had especially in a lovely setting like Assisi. Please do not patronize a place like this as it only encourages them to not improve their food or service. We did dine at other restaurants during our stay in Assisi and they were wonderful in...
Read moreVery bad place. I've never had such a bad experience in restaurant despite my really big travel experience in Europe. This restaurant don't deserve one star. We came there because my relatives were already eating there and after we were going to have a walk together. Not to stand outside, we devided to came in and take something light. Because we had already eaten lunch so we wanted just to take something like a coffee and maybe dessert because we just needed to wait for our relatives and wanted to talk with them. At first the waiter refused to add a table to table of our relatives, so we couldn't seat all together. I can understand it and we decided to sit at the nearest table. Then I asked cappuccino the waiter said "No, no food, no coffee" I asked dessert he also refused to serve us. My mother wanted to use bathroom he said: "You have to order something and then you can use the bathroom" and he didn't let her go there. But actually it was he, who didn't let us to order that something. The restaurant where you can't order coffee and dessert because it is not an order in the eyes of waiter, isn't strange? I can't find explanation for such a rudeness. My mother had a cap where was written "pray for Ukraine", maybe this waiter was angry about ukrainian...
