The tracttoria was nice and cosy. The food was over rated.
They seem to do most of their business on their set meals. Degustation menu (4 dishes) euro £28
I had the Pigeon and it was a little over done. Not very tender or flavourful as I expected. The stuffing was not really nice and quite salty.
What I take most offense to is we ordered the strangozzi with tartafo (truffles) @ euro£25 a plate and they served it to us without the grated pieces of truffles . I am Really thankful to other reviewers on Google who posted photos of the actual dish or I Would have been cheated.
When we told the staff at the Resturant n showed him the photo of what the dish should be like he was not apologetic at all. He just said well it's the same sauce. Hello! The price isn't the same is it! Or perhaps they were hoping to get away charging us £25 euros without providing the fresh shaved truffles that I Ordered this dish for. Not very honest .
Took a Long time to bring out the truffles so as we waited the meal got cold. All in All not a great experience. So if you order a pasta with fresh truffles, check for reviewer photos and make sure...
Read moreAmbience was nice but the food (we had the tagliatelle with asparagus and a mushroom pesto pasta) was rather bland.
Service... Well it depends. The waiters were really attentive to most customers, but we were mostly ignored. We tried to get the attention of the waiters many times but it felt like they were intentionally looking away every time they passed by our table.
In fact, a couple (God bless them!) seated at a nearby table noticed that we had been waiting for a very long time and brought this to the attention of the waiter serving them. They asked for two more wine glasses and informed their waiter that they would like to share their carafe of red wine with us because they noticed that we had been waiting really long for any form of service. Only then did a waiter come to get our order.
I won't go into more details but suffice to say, service remained really slow.
The only positive thing from this experience really, was meeting the wonderful couple (we happened to meet them on the way back to our hotel and had a lovely...
Read moreWe had lunch in this restaurant with my fiancee during our visit in Umbria while walking around Assisi. It was a delightful surprise to enjoy such nice lunch as we weren't expecting much in such a touristic area. We tried strangozzi with truffle which came with plenty of truffle on top and slightly "al dente" as should be. We then also had some 'cappellacci filled with meat and garnished with pecorino and honey sauce' wich were delicious and stepped out. These two fist dishes convinced us to have the wild boar spezzatino ad a follow up and I must say it was the best decision so far. The meat was extremely tender and the sauce very savoury with clove, veggies whole black pepper, and probably some cinnamon. I strongly suggest having the spezzatino if you happening to pass here. We were stuffed at this point and didn't enjoy the cioccolate tart dessert we orderd. In general it was overall a great experience. I shall return here...
