Antica Pizzeria Lombardi — Restaurant in Bari

We arrived in Bari this evening after in exhausting trip from Lincoln, UK. All during a rare British heatwave. We are staying 2 nights in a delightful apartment on the same street, and really wanted easy walking distance. This couldn't have been more convenient. We arrived at 1930, just as doors opened. The welcome could not have been warmer, all the more when Google Translate came to the rescue. I find it charming to visit a place, which, slightly off the beaten track isn't pandering to tourists. Antica Pizzeria Lombardi will turn 100 next year and there's a good reason why. This pizza was the best pizza I've ever had. The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail is noticeable in every bite. Beautiful restaurant with the most friendly, attentive staff. My partner is learning Italian and when we visited last week, the lady who served us was kind & patient and let him practice.
