DALLA NONNA TRATTORIA ITALIANA E BAR — Restaurant in Bellagio

During our holiday in Lake Como, we visited an Italian restaurant that unfortunately provided a disappointing experience. From the outset, the staff were rude, raising their voices at us when they struggled to understand our order. The staff came across very arrogant. This behavior was not only unprofessional but also made us feel unwelcome.

There were several empty tables inside, however, the staff refused to seat us indoors, stating that they were fully booked. This felt particularly disheartening, as we couldn't help but feel that our treatment may have been influenced by our identity as Muslims, leaving us with the impression of discrimination and racism.

To add to the disappointment, the food did not meet our expectations. The dishes lacked flavor and authenticity, which was surprising given the restaurant's location in a region renowned for its culinary excellence.

Overall, this experience was very underwhelming. Poor service and subpar food, overshadowing what should have been an enjoyable dining experience in beautiful Lake Como. We left feeling frustrated and unwelcome, and unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant to others.

It could have been nice. Great reviews and mostly locals inside and close to my rented flat. Many choices and good selection of wine. Sounds perfect. Except that lasagna was not properly heated on the micro wave. Hot on the outskirts and cold in the heart. Cotolleta alla milanese not well cooked . The meat was raw around the bone. Served with mixed grilled vegetables. Not a single added value to the vegetables. Literally, vegetables cooked on grill. No seasonning, no oil , no sauce. Finishing with a tiramisu that has a pinch a salt in it. Why ? Waitress was not friendly at all, not a single smile despite my effort to speak italian. 50€ for the dinner. I paid but could not say goodbye, the waitress was already gone. Probably not a good service for them that night, and definitely a very bad...

We came as a group of 4 and ordered pasta and drinks. The pasta is trully top notch, it's affordable and very tasty. Wine is also great, that's what I had. The rest of us had drinks, there was a little bit too much ice/water in the drinks, the taste was a diluted. But besides that, everything is great: service was great, server speaks english, the place is clean and well kept, food arrived quickly and we got free bread and cheese for the pastas.

I recommend wholeheartedly that you try the pasta here and wash it down with some wine. I would avoid drinks, as they're quite expensive and not that great, especially 8€ for a medium glass...
