Kind and cute customer service + delicious dishes = winning in Italy! Where else will you find non English speaking hosts who still take your order with a smile and friendliness even some of the most seasoned hosts can't present? And where else can you eat one of the most delicious duck entrees for only 18 euros? At Alba, a relatively new and upcoming restaurant that deserves your attention. Course reviews below:

1. Linguine w/Clams (5/5) - Succulently juicy and delicious, especially when so many Italian pastas on this trip have been lacking in sauce and flavor.

2. Roasted Octopus (4/5) - The octopus was slightly overcooked but still tasty and a sizeable portion.

3. Duck Breast (5/5) - Wow. Perfectly cooked. With a lovely currant and ginger sauce. Get this.

4. Swordfish (4.5/5) - Swordfish isn't to everyone's liking because of how meaty a fish it is, but this was cooked well and the tomato sauce on top could have been a dish/soup on its own it was so good!

5. Cannoli (5/5) - The best cannoli I've ever had in Italy or Boston or wherever? Yes indeed!

Ate here last night. Staff were friendly, attentive and polite, all in good measure, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment. Every dish was outstanding. Beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and great balance of flavours - clean, fresh and delicious. We had the polpo to start (perfectly cooked and beautifully presented), duck in Marsala (rich and delicious) and tagliatelle with shrimp (fresh, clean and the addition of mint was perfect) to follow and then pistachio tortino and pistachio semifreddo to finish with digestifs (of which there was an wide choice and an excellent price). Can't fault it. The pistachio tortino was a triumph - quite exceptional! Sono stata a cena in questo ristorante con la mia famiglia e il nostro cane. Abbiamo prenotato tramite TheFork. La richiesta è stata subito accolta e le domande speciali lasciate sulla piattaforma sono state ascoltate e rispettate. Sin da subito veniamo accolti da un personale di sala molto sorridente e disponibile che ci prende le giacche e ci fa accomodare. La cena comincia con un amuse-bouche con crema di ceci al limone e gamberi davvero gradevole. Continuiamo con i seguenti piatti: vellutata di zucca, amaretti e stracciatella (consistenze perfette) polpo con crema di patate e olive taggiasche (cottura del polpo e presentazione del piatto davvero ottimi) risotto scampi e agrumi (cottura del riso perfetta e gusti molto bilanciati) tagliatelle ai funghi (tagliatella spessa, gradevolissima al palato e alla masticazione) cannoli siciliani tris di sorbetti (è sembrato di mangiare la frutta in più consistenze e la presentazione era davvero meravigliosa) crostatina con crema pasticcera e frutti di bosco (crostata leggermente spessa ma friabile, molto gradevole, e frutta freschissima).

Servizio impeccabile, attenti a non far mancare mai nulla, specialmente il meraviglioso piatto del pane, servito con grissini e pane fresco con un leggero filo di olio. Hanno avuto attenzione anche per il nostro cane portandogli una ciotola di acqua fresca e assicurandosi che stesse bene durante la serata. Ci si sente davvero coccolati e nonostante i piatti non arrivino molto ravvicinati è un piacere rimanere in sala. L’unico consiglio che mi sento di dare è quello di uniformare la tipologia di musica di sottofondo in sala… non è invadente, ma si spazia da pezzi più movimentati, quasi da discoteca, a classici della canzone italiana.

Conto molto proporzionato: 1 antipasto, 1 piatto e 1 dolce a testa con 2 bottiglie di acqua e 1 calice di vino circa €50 a persona!
