Today is my husbands birthday and we came for a casual dinner to have a nice moment and a romantic night. All was well until I had a question to the waitress, I looked around and see her in the window behind the glass. I raised my hand slightly and smiled to show that we have a question - and then she goes to roll her eyes, make an annoyed expression and shrug 🤷‍♀️. I didn’t get what was happening until my husband said that maybe she is off already?

A blond girl with wavy hair (the waitress) - why wouldn’t you show me “wait, I will refer you to my colleague”? How am I expected to read your mind - that 5 minutes ago you were working and now you are off? It’s not like anyone came to us to say that there is change in waitressing staff (as it is done in al normal restaurants around the world). Why would you be so rude, when we were nothing but lovely to you?

I just wanted to have a dinner with the person I love on his birthday. Anyway, we just collected the food, paid and left. Do not come to this place during important moments with...

After my long walk up to San Luca, I wanted something nearby once I got back into the city center — and 051 Osteria del Quadrilatero, just steps from Neptune, fit the bill. It’s a cute little spot, very accommodating when I wanted to relax with a couple of glasses of wine before dinner.

The staff was attentive, and two out of three servers even replied in Italian when I spoke it (which I appreciated!). Dinner itself was lovely. The lasagna was excellent — and I say that as an Italian who makes it fatto a mano at home.

The only downside: it’s definitely more touristy, with lots of English being spoken, so not quite the hidden gem vibe. Still, for a central location and a solid meal, it does the trick.

(Fun fact: “051” is Bologna’s area code, which...

5 stars are really fair! We randomly stumbled on this small restaurant right by the piazza Maggiore. A very kind man from the restaurant approached us and asked us where we’re from and presented us the food they have to offer. Usually I hate when people do that, but then as he saw that we weren’t sure and he just let us alone and decide ourselves, wich was the part that I loved the most. Usually in touristic areas people run you over and try to drag you into their restaurant but he didn’t! 10/10 service fr. Foodwise it’s also really great! I ordered tortellini carbonara, this was the best I’ve ever eaten truly. The ambient is also really...

The food came quite quickly, with a swift service and a very local menu, serving fresh ingredients made into a delicious lasagna, a wonderful tortellini and an amazing ravioli. The drinks were flavourful and cheap, with a clean and pleasant presentation. The toilets and floor were not so clean, but it was made up for with the quick service and the large number of tables, meaning most of the time there is no queue. I would recommend the dishes they serve here and will definitely come back again for the pasta.

We only got tigelle and the cheese and cold cuts board but… my oh my… extremely generous portions, super high quality food and delicious extras (the pancetta focaccia was lit!). The place is nice but super crammed, especially if you sit outside and people keep walking up and down one inch from you. The bathroom is disability accessible but it’s not clear how you can reach it considering there is a maze of tables to get there. Outstanding quality/price ratio!
