Low & slow Bologna — Restaurant in Bologna

I have to give a review to this place and I hope they take it as constructive criticism instead of just a bad review. The owners are friendly but the facilities are terrible specially the toilets and the food is really disappointing. The owners told me that it’s an American concept but he shouldn’t even mention that as we know how large the American portions normally are specially in a Bbq concept restaurant. The mixed grill it’s just sad to look at. A little thin slice of brisket, 2table Spoons of Pulled pork, 2 ribs, a sausage sliced and an old tiny portion of sliced peppers, tasteless coselaw and burnt courgettes and a big cubed roasted potatoes which were over salted and too much rosemary that was bitter to taste, the tastiest was the sliced bread ,but the worst part is that the meat was cold. The chopping board was huge with just tiny pieces of food it felt like an empty race track. The concept is not giving. I appreciate them taking off the charge of the Coca-Cola because of the food being cold but the experience is ruined unfortunately. Some good, some bad.

The brisket, as other reviews have stated, was very good. Much like what you'd find in "the south." Much recommend.

I got the BBQ Misto (mix), which I would avoid, because 2/3 of the items were not good. The shredded pulled pork was okay. I could only eat a few bites. Just not a lot of flavor and not typical of American BBQ.

The final part of the BBQ Misto, the pork ribs, were unfortunately, not good at all. Without sounding mean, the "rub" definitely needs to be completely reworked. There's no reason BBQ ribs should be this poorly flavored. I couldn't eat more than one. I make them at home (using the oven, even) all the time with a simple rub (Chef John) found on the internet and they are 10x better than this.

This was a fantastic meal. The Holy trinity, a grilled chicken salad and bread satisfied the two of us. Perfect portions, we couldn’t eat another bite but I didn’t leave the table feeling like we over ate. The brisket was so tender I could cut it with my wooden fork. All the meats were perfectly seasoned and smoked, even the bread had a nice smoky flavor to it. The pulled pork and ribs were really tasty and had a drizzle of zesty sauce, not soaked in it, so it complemented the meat without overwhelming it.
