Behind the central area you can find some amazing places to eat - just follow the crowd ! The Locals I mean not the tourists
Walking along I saw many young people lining up to order their food and I looked in to see a small door that let to a small shop serving pizza by the slice - there were lots of types you could get and the smell was incredible….so good I just could not walk past
You need to be a little patient and maybe a little pushy - an old italian lady came in and much to the disappointment of us all just pushed in and received her food quickly
In italy the students let her go and just worked around her getting her food
There were several types you could choice from and the choice was hard as they were all very good and at a reasonable price
Like most places in Italy if you stood in the shop and ate standing it was less expensive it cost more to sit - the shop has a few small tables and was crowded but they had tables out the front available so I grabbed one of those
The pizza was exactly how good pizza should be crisp in the bottom and light to eat - the topping was just enough to be tasty it not too much to be soggy
The cost was delightful too - with a drink it was about 5E which was great value for such a delightful & delicious lunch
I am writing this review as I sit here thinking I just might go in and grab another …..
However there is also an amazing cake store a few doors up that had a line too so maybe that might be my...
Read moreWhile making our way from the train station to Via Ugo Bassi, we were enticed by the mouth-watering aroma wafting from this small takeaway pizzeria. The numerous awards proudly displayed in the window and on the counter caught our attention, convincing us to grab a slice even after a full dinner.
However, our initial excitement was dampened by an inattentive cashier. We stood for several minutes without acknowledgment, despite her being preoccupied with cleaning. A simple greeting would have sufficed.
On a brighter note, the pizza was truly delightful, and we’re inclined to revisit for more.
Yet, I’m giving only 3 stars due to a billing discrepancy. We were shocked when asked to pay over 10€ for two slices. Considering the board listed no pizza exceeding 3€, this seemed excessive. Upon examining our receipt, we found charges for three slices and a lemonade - though we only ordered two slices and no drinks. When questioned, the cashier immediately apologized and refunded the overcharge, which makes me suspect the initial error was intentional, possibly due to our use of English instead of Italian.
Though the pizza was commendable, customers should remain vigilant...
Read moreWe came to this pizzeria with high expectations, and I have to say—the pizza absolutely delivered! The flavors were incredible, and every bite was a reminder of why Italian pizza is so famous. We tried four different kinds, and both the mozzarella with mortadella and the parmigiana pizzas were out of this world. Honestly, we wish we had tried more because the menu has so many options it was hard to choose.
That said, the service could be improved. Neither the waiter nor the waitress offered any recommendations, and overall, the staff wasn’t very attentive—especially considering how many tourists visit. It felt like they were just going through the motions rather than making you feel welcome or guiding you through the menu.
But in the end, the pizza itself makes up for it. If you’re in Bologna and looking for amazing, high-quality pizza with bold, authentic flavors, this is a spot you shouldn’t miss. Just go with some patience when it...
