Trattoria Da Guido — Restaurant in Bolsena

At the time it was difficult to understand why, but we were treated so badly at this restaurant, it was shocking. The staff were friendly at first, but turned against us quite early on in the evening. Looking back it may have been at the point I confirmed that I had booked online. I had booked the table on google. When the time came to pay, the person virtually threw the card machine at my card which was lying on the table. He didn’t make eye contact and was clearly angry. Me and my 2 daughters were confused and hurt by this behaviour. Not speaking Italian I was happy to have been able to book online, and thereby avoid a difficult telephone discussion. I had no expectation of a reduction in the price of the food, but I think we were given a reduction of 5 euros on an invoice of 55. No one discussed this with me. Giudizio complessivo pessimo!!! Il locale ha delle grandi potenzialità vista la location sul lago, per quanto riguarda il cibo il livello è medio (nel senso che non è scadente ma non ci tornerei assolutamente per quello che abbiamo mangiato). L'accoglienza dei clienti è poco brillante (anche se ci sono già clienti seduti, non è bello mostrarsi non in grado di dare assicurazioni sulla possibilità di accogliere dei nuovi avventori). Il servizio al tavolo è un po' frettoloso nonostante l'impegno di una ragazza presa a lavorare per il periodo estivo dopo la fine della scuola. Ciò che lascia veramente impressionati, tuttavia, è la scortesia di chi gestisce il locale. Ad una semplice richiesta di chiarimenti sul perchè si paghi ancora il servizio (2,20 euro a persona), la risposta è stata a dir poco sgarbata e scostante con atteggiamenti ripetuti di stizza di chi vuole farti capire che non ha nessun interesse a servirti per bene per farti tornare. Overall assessment bad !!! The restaurant has great potential considering the location on the lake, with regard to the food the average level is low (in the sense that it is not bad but I would not go back for what we ate). The customer's reception is not very brilliant (although there are already customers sitting, it's not good to show you can not provide assurance on the possibility of welcoming new entrants). The table service is a bit hasty despite the commitment of a girl taken to work for the summer after the end of the school. What makes you really impressed, however, is the rudeness of who runs the venue. Trattoria Da Guido is the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer. The house wine was excellent, especially the white—it was crisp, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the seafood dishes. The clam pasta was absolutely to die for, loaded with flavor and cooked just right. Another standout was the lake fish ravioli, which hit the mark just as well—delicate, flavorful, and something you don’t find everywhere.
