Ristorante Perla da Donatello — Restaurant in Câdesédda/Calasetta

The first impression of this restaurant was great! We were greeted with a friendly smile and provided with menus written in English and Italian. Despite this, the menus were not translated properly. Lucky I have an Italian girlfriend who was able to provide a proper translation between menus. The food was generally pretty good however beware of the starters (antipasto misto). We ordered the antipasto misto (basically a mixture of seafood) which we were told was for two people and quite large (30 €). The starter was tasty but what they don't tell you is they will charge you 30 € per person for it. Suddenly the starter didn't taste that good. There is no way it was worth that kind of money and I would not recommend ordering it. What made everything worse was the rude treatment we received after we didn't leave a tip. After spending over 120 € they took the bill without saying anything! No thank you, no goodbye, it was rude and not how customer service should be. Un brutto ricordo da dimenticare presto. Non consigliato! Siamo arrivati alle 12,45, ristorante vuoto. Al nostro saluto di buongiorno, nessuno dei presenti, tre donne due giovani e una meno, non hanno ricambiato il saluto! Abbiamo chiesto se era possibile pranzare e ci hanno risposto, che il personale stava mangiando e avremmo dovuto ritornare dopo un quarto d’ora circa. Ci siamo congedati e abbiamo passeggiato lungo la banchina del porto per oltre mezzora. L’accoglienza non era stata certo il miglior biglietto da visita, tuttavia abbiamo deciso di tornare. Accoglienza sempre fredda e poco cordiale. Il locale moderno e ben arredato, personale che dovrebbe andare a scuola prima di essere impiegati in un ristorante che aspira ad essere INN. Abbiamo ordinato pietanze di pesce con nomi altosonanti e ci siamo trovati a mangiare un antipasto di baccale salato mascherato da condimenti che ne mitigavano il sapore, spacciato per pesce dalla carne bianca (supponevamo fosse orata, dentice o branzino) considerato il costo. Come primo una pietanza indicata come una pasta speciale sarda con un sugo indefinito. In effetti la pasta era sarda ma di speciale non aveva niente e per giunta era pure semi cruda. Si trattava di gnocchetti sardi che si trovano ormai in ogni parte d’Italia. L’ultima sorpresa, il conto! 57 euro per due scadenti antipasti e due primi, un bicchiere di vino e una bottiglia d’acqua. E il costo del coperto? 5 euro!! Una vera delusione l’accoglienza, il servizio, e la qualità del cibo. Il costo in rapporto alle pietanze servite e la professionalità del personale che non ci ha neanche accompagnato all’uscita e, soprattutto neanche salutato è veramente caro. A nostro parere dovrebbero chiudere per un anno, imparare come ci si deve rapportare con i clienti e riaprire tenendo bene in mente il rapporto...

High quality food and it was delicious. Best food we ate over our holiday.

Atmosphere was laid back but felt busy. Needed some background music as we could just hear the staff sorting out the service.

Given 3 stars because of rushed service. We waited over 30 minutes for our first course. They forgot a dish we ordered. And despite us asking , they didn't put a candle on a cake for my wife's birthday.

At busy times, more attention to detail is needed if we're paying €20 per dish. Or...
