Where to start - where to end. Well - first of all: we had so much luck getting the opportunity to taste this pizza without an reservation upfront. Pure luck. Secondly - yes the menu is not that big, but why writing a thick book when finding the sence of all in a few words. Every single ingredient is tasteful and harmonic correspondending with the other. It's fresh. It's well assorted and, I eat so many pizzas because it's my favorite food - I think it's the best I ever had. I tried the Molenti and the Issohadore... it was a poem. I especially want to highlite the dough, the base, the foundation of a good pizza. This one is perfect. It's crispy, juicy, soft, tender, chewy - all at once. It feels like a creation of a pizza-scientist from the dough-University. It's pure magic. An orgasm. It's all I ever wanted and, as I was done. I felt a little sad 'cause it was over but somewhen, I will come back. But now my bigger problem is, I can't give 6 stars here, either I convince Google to make a special badge for this location or I de-rate all the rated pizzerias... Will see. By the way, the staff is quite nice and English speaking and the coffee is not bad either. Thanks and cheers...
Read moreTo start with something positive, the food was rather good and more original than a traditional pizzeria. The service on the contrary was not at the same level. The waiter was not friendly at all. The food was almost thrown onto the table and a smile was more than we could have hoped for. We had to ask for a dessert ourselves, it was not proposed, and we could only have the tiramisu (it seemed too much of an effort to bring something else after 11PM). You would expect that they propose you a coffee (common it’s Italy right ?) but no; too much of an effort too I guess. Let’s talk about that dessert ... arrived after 1 minute in a plastic cup.. didn’t seem homemade at all... this is Italy right ?! We have got the check, paid and saw them stowing away our table and chairs in a minute time. I never before felt “kicked out” of a place more than...
Read moreWe visited Grains on a whim after reading positive reviews online. We didn't book a table as it was a last minute decision and whilst the restaurant was pretty full, the manager found us a table for two which was later to be taken by another party. It was however in high demand so book ahead if you can!
The manager and his staff were extremely friendly to all visitors and are clearly very passionate about their food and restaurant. It took us hardly any time to be served and even enjoyed a little taster of olives and pizza bases - delicious!
Our pizzas were very tasty and I would recommend trying something new for that authentic Italian experience. The quality of food was excellent and the prices relatively inexpensive. Thank you for making our last night in Cagliari a...
