Sommarco: A Hidden Gem for Wine Lovers and Food Enthusiasts!!!
If you're looking for a unique and unforgettable experience, look no further than Sommarco. From the moment you step in, the charm of this place is undeniable. The wine here is truly amazing, but what made our visit even more special was the incredible hospitality of the owner, Marco. Honestly, after spending some time there, it feels like the place is Marcoâwarm, welcoming, and full of character. It's almost as if Sommarco and Marco are one and the same!
The food was equally remarkable, perfectly paired with the wine. What sets Sommarco apart is their dedication to using local productsâmany of which you probably wonât find anywhere else. (Get the cheese and meat platter) The dishes are elevated by fresh herbs from their own little garden outside, adding a delightful touch that connects you directly to the land.
After indulging in their exquisite wine and food, be sure to check out Small and Smiling, their cozy cocktail bar just around the corner. It's small, warm, and inviting, with every cocktail made using their own house-made syrups. They even use a special kind of ice that doesnât melt quickly, allowing you to enjoy your drink even more. Sommarco, along with Small and Smiling, is a true hidden gem offering an experience you wonât soon forget. When you meet Marco, you'll understand whyâheâs the heart and soul of this...
Read moreWhat an experience! If you come here for some food and wine, you need to bring two things: friends and time. This place is so inviting that you don't want to leave, the food is spectacular and the wines fantastic! The Manager (or owner? I forgot his name) knows a story to tell about everything he serves, and what he serves is superb. I am not very good with names, otherwise I could quote what we had yesterday, so I can only describe it a bit. Among our group were 7 adults including 2 vegetarians and 2 little children. Marco (if that's his name) catered for everyone's needs, put a little plate together for the little ones, separated the tasting plates for the vegetarians from the meat for the others. Everything was made extra fresh, coming from local farms and markets. And then the recipes! I have not had such combinations of flavour and texture, presented so nicely and always with a story to tell what it was and why it was so special. This man loves his profession and very clearly lives for it. Rating 5 stars is not enough but it's...
Read moreWe visited Sommarco on a warm Friday night. The place is lovely but it is very important to notice that it is a bar, and not a restaurant. The chairs are not made for sitting down for longer than an hour. We ordered both the wine tasting with three glasses of wine and the food tasting menu to get a little more to eat than just a snack. At least we thought so. The price was eur 35 per person for the food tasting only (relatively expensive compared to the average price for one course in the area). However we received six very small dishes including one tiny croquette. Value-for-money for the wine is alright, but when it comes to the tasting menu, it is the opposite. If you go here, order your favourite snacks independently instead...
