I recently had the pleasure of dining at "I masanielli" pizzeria, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Situated in a charming corner of the city, the ambiance was welcoming and cozy, providing the perfect setting for a delightful meal.
The highlight of my visit to "I masanielli" was, undoubtedly, the incredible variety of pizzas they offered, each crafted using a combination of three distinct cooking techniques - steamed, wood fire oven, and electric oven for one single pizza. This innovative approach to pizza-making truly set them apart from any other pizzeria I've visited.
The pizza that combined these three techniques was a true masterpiece. The steamed technique imparted a light and airy texture to the crust, creating a delicate foundation for the flavorful toppings. The wood-fired element added a delightful smokiness and char to the edges, providing a rustic depth of flavor that perfectly complemented the fresh ingredients. Finally, the electric oven technique brought a precise and consistent cooking process, ensuring that every bite was perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of crispness and tenderness.
This combination of cooking methods resulted in a pizza that was a harmonious symphony of textures and flavors. The melding of tradition, innovation, and precision in a single pizza was nothing short of impressive and showcased the pizzeria's dedication to the craft of pizza-making.
Beyond the exceptional pizza, the service at "I masanielli" was impeccable. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their craft, and their attentiveness added to the overall warmth of the experience.
In addition to the exquisite pizza, the pizzeria offered a delectable array of appetizers, wines, and desserts, all of which further highlighted the culinary expertise and attention to detail present at "I masanielli."
From the moment I stepped through the door, I felt like a valued guest, and when I left, I did so with a satisfied palate and a desire to return. "I masanielli" pizzeria is a true gem, offering a one-of-a-kind dining experience that seamlessly combines tradition with innovation.
If you're a connoisseur of exceptional pizza and unparalleled hospitality, "I masanielli" is a must-visit. Whether you're seeking a pizza that beautifully marries tradition and innovation in every slice, this pizzeria is sure to captivate your senses and leave you eager for more. My visit to "I masanielli" was an absolute delight, and I eagerly look forward to my next...
Read moreFor a pizza joint that has received so many awards and that is so much talked about your expectations are rightly high… but unfortunately these guys have some work to do to manage your expectations. Clearly the pizza is good but now so many other pizzerias in the area and in Campania are also very good. So where do I think they let themselves down? Well it is still simply still a pizzaria… if you are lucky to visit Pepe in Grani, not too far and a fair comparison because they play, on paper, in the same league, you really understand how Pepe managed to elevate pizza to another level. These guys have not… for starters, you book your slot far in advance and you still have to wait around 30-45 minutes out in the cold. They have a very archaic system of calling your name out and deleting it from a piece of paper with little regard of the fact that you are seating 45 minutes later than your booked time. The service is then really average once that you are in for example we were in 4 and the table for kitted only for 2 and after a while they brought us 2 more sets of cutleries and glasses. The mood and vibe in the room is ok but again nothing special as you are seated in a big room amongst everyone else and the place doesn’t have any special feeling, as in, you could be anywhere else in any other pizzeria. The pizza is indeed good and the drinks menu decent. Overall my view is that if you need to bother booking much in advance for this place, definitely try to go to Pepe in Grani instead where I think you will experience something really special from start to finish that has everything in it (service, ambience, food quality). As it pertains to Mr Martucci, I think he is a very good pizzaiolo but has managed to stay only a pizzaiolo after all and you can see that in his restaurant from the way everything...
Read moreYes, having tried some other pizzerias among the top 50, I can attest to the fact that I Masanielli is the best pizzeria in the world. This is my second time here, and I say that as a person who doesn’t even eat pork, so I’m probably missing out on a lot. However, futuro di marinara and 5 consistenze di cipolla are probably the best two pizzas I’ve ever tried in my life. The futuro di marinara is like a salty umami drug on a an incredibly soft and airy yet crispy dough (thanks to Francesco’s innovative triple-cooking method). Every little ingredient is of the finest quality and sourced from the best place in the world. The olives, the capers, the anchovies, the oregano, and the tomatoes. This pizza should be displayed in the Uffizi gallery. The onion pizza is just heavenly onions with all the right flavors, cooking methods, and textures. Truly innovative and extremely delicious creations.
I just dream about the next time I can visit Italy so that I can make the pilgrimage to I Masanielli. It is indeed some of the finest, most delicious food I have ever tried in my life. I really admire Francesco Martucci for his innovative creations, his commitment, and his love for pizza. I am really looking forward to what recipes he will create in the future. Be assured that whatever you order at I Masanielli is going to be very delicious. Other things I tried here: Frittatina come una malfada Parmigiana secondo martucci Marinara atomica Quattro pomodori A Franco Pagliaro - indimenticabile maestro
They were all great. The marinara atomica is just a big tomato party, so it’s particularly good if you’re a tomato aficionado. My favorite among those is maybe the quattro pomodori or the parmigiana. But of course, the triple-cooked marinara and the onion pizza have a special place...
