La Tana del Drago — Restaurant in Castagneto Carducci

Excelent authetic food. We went there knowing that it wasn't like other tourist-trap-restaurants...and it wasn't. The owners husband greeted us and started out by warning us that they didn't serve pizza and pasta bolognese. Fine by us we agreed and found a big table overlooking a small alley and the setting sun over the Mediteranian Sea.

The menu - only in italian was carefully and friendly explained to us. Two of us.. me and my 7 year old son went for the full authentic dish: Trippa, which is cow stomach served in a bread bowl!! It, together with a well tasting tuscany draft beer (B.A.T.) for me, was a heavenly dish! During the meal the owners husband came to our table and we had a nice talk about this and that. We spent a week in the area dining out every evening. La Tana del Drago was quite simply the best meal we had all week (the standard in the area is high so this is quite the achievement). It's a very small restaurant so booking is essential to avoid disappointment. We were very lucky they had one table left as we were passing.

I made a mistake when ordering in my broken Italian. I only realised it after the waiter had taken the order to the kitchen, but there was no issue in changing my main, it was managed without a fuss and very sympathetically.

Do not miss this fabulous restaurant if you are in the area.

La Tana del Drago - Il re di...

Questa è l' esperienza ABERRANTE che ho vissuto due ore fa presso il suddetto ristorante...dopo aver prenotato per due persone,io e mio marito, arriviamo in perfetto orario per l unico tavolo disponibile ore 19.45 spaccate (i tavoli in totale sono CIRCA 6). Veniamo accolti con la cameriera che scocciata esclama..MA TUTTI ADESSO STATE ARRIVANDO?! ( eravamo arrivati solo noi e cmq avevamo prenotato noi boh). Ordiniamo un tagliere di salumi in due,una bottiglia di vino e due primi (una pappa al pomodoro e un piatto di gnudi)..dopo circa mezz'ora arriva il tagliere che non era quello che avevamo ordinato, ma cmq eravamo affamati e non abbiamo fatto storie.Il tempo passa beviamo il vino e dei primi nessuna traccia..la cameriera ci rassicura che stanno arrivando nel frattempo guarda il cielo, sta fuori a prendere aria...dopo UN' ORA E UN QUARTO ESATTA mio marito entra a chiedere..non sapevano che numero del tavolo fosse ( sei tavoli ripeto in tutto il locale)e non avevano ancora calato la pasta..ci alziamo per andarcene mio marito paga 50 euro la bottiglia e le due fette di salame che abbiamo mangiato..loro non fanno neanche il gesto di chiedere scusa,dimostrarsi dispiaciuti,CI HANNO FATTO PAGARE ANCHE IL COPERTO...la cameriera non ci guarda in faccia non saluta pare pure scocciata... Gli errori li possono fare tutti ma non si è trattato di ERRORI... Questi non sanno dove sta' di casa la ristorazione e soprattutto L'EDUCAZIONE..Io 50 euro li guadagno in una giornata di lavoro non li trovo sugli alberi..e ho trovato veramente poco rispettosa la considerazione per il cliente. 0 DI ZERO UNO È...
