Great setting, right inside the Scopello Town Square. The pizza was good. Everything else was horrible. For the number of English speaking customers not one English speaking serving person? Yes the place was getting busy but no water, no bread and we waited, and waited. We were served by at least 3 different people. One of the 4 of us speak Sicilian but after a long wait after finally ordering they still got our pasta orders wrong. Just the one came out cold. Despite bringing out the wrong orders and cold, the waiter said we should have let him know before eating the one of two cold orders...after waiting an hour. After voicing our concern, we waited for a bill that never came. My friend and I finally had to go to the cashier to settle our bill. We had let them know to split the bill for 2 couples at ordering, but this server or perhaps he was management argued and became angry, and ended up tossing the receipt printer at my friend.
Others came to our rescue to deal with this clearly arrogant, angry staff member. We reported this to we think the owner, but no respect or acknowledgement of poor treatment.
In balance they did not charge us for 1 of 2 ordered pasta orders that came out cold, where the other did not come at all.
Don"t spoil your vacation by going to this busy restaurant if you don't...
Read moreIf you like poor service, managers that try it on and average food, you'll love this place. We waited an hour for a starter of grilled cheese, that was served cold, and this after asking two waiters where our food was? Requested a replacement, that came marginally warmer. My main came soon after we had finished our warmish cheese, but my wife's pizza was late; delivered rudely and with no acknowledgment. When finished a waiter asked if all was ok? Really??? When it was time to pay (you have to wait to get a waiters attention to get your table number and then queue to pay) the "manager" charged for two cheeses, one that we returned and the one we ate and then proceeded to deduct one! I refused to pay for the starter which the manager eventually accepted, and then proceeded to try and buy me off with a limocello or grappa. I refused preferring to express my dissatifaction here. Footnote: We ate at the smaller resturant opposite, "Made in Sicilia" the previous evening much better food...
Read moreWe organized a meal here for 80 guests to eat on a wedding weekend. When we arrived, the tables were not put as desired. The food was slow to come out, especially pizza. However I understand the oven can only cook a certain amount of pizzas at a time. But still, they were coming out in dribs and drabs. What made the situation worse, though, was the owner. He was rude and did not respond to any of our complaints and comments! This place hasn't been the same since it changed hands. It's a shame. I wouldn't recommend to anyone who wants to be treated like a valued customer. Especially when we have payed for EIGHTY people to eat. It's out of order. Quite clearly the customer(s) don't come first at Isonzo Cinque. We went to a restaurant directly opposite the night before which was 10x better. So many nicer places in Scopello square. I don't...
