Ristorante Loquita - Santa Maria di Leuca — Restaurant in Castrignano del Capo

This is been one of the worst experience we had in a long time, we brought my son for his 18th birthday thinking is going to be something special considering the restaurant had such a reputation, is being a complete failure, starting from a very pushy server that didn’t understand the dynamics of the evening, from very mediocre food, we had several appetizers of few were ok, but for sure not enough for this type of prices. From there we had two type of paella, a absolute disaster, I lived in Barcelona and travel in Spain and those had nothing to do with a real paella, the sangria restless with bad wine, for only $60 for a liter, to make things even better we had the pleasure to see couple of little friends walking up and down the walls of the patio. Considering the ridiculous cost of the dinner is really hard to let this on go. Unfortunately this the trans of the restaurant in general, very expensive and mediocre quality...

Festa weeks ago we had a dinner there. As adviced by the waiter, we order a mix of antipasti, 2 different pasta dishes and a fried calamari.

Some (half?) of the antipasti received could have been bought in a supermarket (kind of ready to eat fish food + some fresh garnishing). The other half was uneatable: cold, old fish "adjusted" with some balsamic vinegar.

The pasta dishes were to salty, results we left them almost untouched. The fired calamari was so chewy that it could bounce.

We expressed our concerns to the waiter, without stimulating any reaction. We also expressed our concerns to the manager...but instead of apologizing she accused us to not understand their fine food... embarrassing.

As a cherry on the cake, they made us pay a "coperto" for a 10 months old baby who obviously was not eating their food.

I can’t recommend this place and really don’t understand how anyone else could. This was, by far, the worst food I’ve had anywhere in Italy. Bread was stale; no crushed red chili flakes (?!), secondi -pesce spada involtini- was not cooked! It tasted bad and the kitchen was obviously rushing food out, very poor presentation. But most importantly, I had to hold back getting sick at the table. Wine by glass was open one too many days. And though the servers were all lovely, the woman who cashed you out at register was rude and all about the transaction, which was pretty difficult considering I didn’t eat my secondi and was sick from the food. I paid in full with no complaint, but I bothered to write this review. Also, I sat under a bridge steps away from the entrance to a public beach. Not romantic, not quiet, not clean or...
