The Simpson — Restaurant in Catania

I do not recommend. The service is at a terrible level, there were 9 tables outside and a few were free, but while waiting in the restaurant you have to ask the waiter for a table, because he will not suggest himself. For the next 20 minutes no one will come to take the order, we saw them taking orders from people who came later, you have to ask the waiter to place the order, of course he will not take it immediately, but make you wait at the table. We waited another 40 minutes for 2 pizzas. After eating you have to go and ask the waiter for the bill, they are not interested in whether you are after your meal and you want to order anything else or just pay and leave. The first place in Sicily where the service pays no attention to the customer even though we ate in places where there were a lot more people. It would be better and faster if you could order by the desk and pick up the order yourself. As for the taste and prices, ingredients on my pizza felt like the cheapest - especially tomato sauce and olives that tasted like ones you can buy in discount store. We found this gem of a restaurant (near the airport) by chance and what a find it was! The guys are so attentive, hard working and the food was outstanding all this came in at a very reasonable price. What do the complainers giving bad reports expect; a 5* restaurant where you are hand fed with views of the 'Hanging gardens of Babylon'!!! NO, a great honest service and fresh Sicilian food at its best is what you are going to be served with, full of locals which maybe also be a clue. Back on the 22nd September 2023 and we cannot wait! Un locale che ha bisogno di un occhio in più per quanto riguarda la gestione degli spazi e degli arredamenti, il tavolo davanti alla porta del bagno e della cucina non è molto carino. Il locale si chiama The Simpson e oltre qualche foto piccolina sparsa nelle pareti dei personaggi protagonisti ci sono: 1 foto di padre Pio, 1 foto di San Giovanni 2 e un quadro con gli angeli, ora capisco la devozione, ma dare qualcosa in più sulla particolarità aiuterebbe (il post sul tavolo non conta dato che viene oscurato dalla tovaglia). Il menù è troppo vario, ci si perde in una marea di gusti, magari una scrematura sul numero e una divisione in pizze classiche e speciali aiuterebbe il cliente a scegliere. Inoltre andrebbero rinnovati, in quanto vecchi e mal ridotti. La pizza è stata un po' una delusione, vedere 400 recensioni positive ci si aspettava di più, 1 pizza si 3, ahimè era bruciatina, l'impasto troppo spesso per la mal stesura, sua qualità degli ingredienti non si può dire che fossero di pessima qualità, anzi dopo la cottura han mantenuto i loro sapori, magari qualche attenzione in più sulla portate avrebbe prodotto qualche sorriso in più a tavola. Il prezzo rispecchia tutto quello che è stato riportato su, è meglio pagare il giusto e mangiare bene, che pagare poco e mangiare un po' così. Da cameriere, un consiglio per coloro che operano in sala, a prescindere da tutto quello che succede a lavoro, il cliente va "coccolato" e qualche sorriso in più non guasta. L'inconveniente di stasera non lo menziono perché capita di avere problemi il qualche locale e non è giusto penalizzarvi su un qualcosa che può capitare in qualsiasi posto.
