I’ve been to Verso Coffice few times in the past. It’s a innovative coffee shop with a couple of spacious work and study areas. They serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and anything in between. The quality of their coffees, as well as their food is outstanding. I went for a mid-week lunch with some friends and we shared a couple of “pane cunzato” as starters and then, each of us ordered a main. I got the vegetarian club sandwich with a side of fries. The sandwich was delicious! Three layers of home made bread, roasted aubergine, dried tomatoes, hummus and mayo. I couldn’t stop eating it. My friend ordered quinoa salad with vegetables and basil mayo. Others had the Brunch menu, English style, with bacon and pancakes (with maple syrup), a mini croissant, toast, salmon and eggs. Drink included. Verso offers a wide array of freshly made sweet and savoury pastries, and also granita, ice creams and juices. All locally prepared. If you’re in town you must stop by and say hi to its owner, Roberto. Free WiFi, comfy couches and chairs will make you feel at home. Friendly and...
Read moreI had to spend a day working remotely while in Catania, with meetings and all, and I’m so glad I found this place! Absolutely perfect for remote work — they have a quiet, dedicated area for laptop users, which is such a thoughtful touch. The prices are super reasonable, the service is phenomenal, and the food is delicious — yes, real meals, not just snacks!
I was especially happy to find they had oatmilk ice latte (a rare gem in Sicily!) — that totally made my day. The staff were incredibly kind, constantly cleaning the tables, and even recognized me after just a couple of hours.
Highly recommend to anyone who needs to get some work done while enjoying a cozy, welcoming atmosphere in Catania!...
Read moreI love this place, because it is just about the only of it’s kind in Catania. Specialty coffee is almost impossible to find here. So the fact they offer a couple single origin Chemex coffee’s is amazing. As well as the option of a single origin Aribica espresso (most espresso in Sicily is robusta, and very bitter). My only complaint, is the served us the Chemex in wine glasses, and the staff needs some training on making coffee with the chemex. It was pretty weak, even though it was clear they used enough grounds. My observations were, they need to dial in grind size, and their pouring technique.
The food we got was very tasty, and the staff...
