Hotel Santa Lucia Le Sabbie D'Oro — Restaurant in Cefalù

If I could I’d give this place negative stars I would, to start off, most of the hotel is very old and not renovated from 1960’s, the only parts that are modern and touched up is the front of the hotel (where they host weddings, birthday parties etc) so the pictures you see are mostly clickbait. The rest of the hotel is very old, has a lot of stains and dirt pilled up with a funky old smell to it.

When rooms are cleaned they are only slightly cleaned, they change the sheets, maybe vacuum the floor a bit, however bellow the bed and in corners you can see dust that has been sitting there for god knows how long. Pillows have weird stains on them and one of the pillows we had wasn’t even a pillow, it was some glass wool type material, very cheap.

For electricity in the room you receive a magnetic card which has its own socket, electricity works only when the magnetic card is in the socket, so if you want to come back from the beach and have a cold AC room forget that because you receive only 1 magnetic card which you need to take with you to be able to unlock the door. The AC itself is limited to 21c and it takes quite a while to get the room to be a bareable temperature.

The beach promised along the hotel is not that close as they say, they say you have your own sunbed and umbrella but you dont, you can’t reserve it either, it is almost always packed with locals or early birds from the hotel. If you try going to a beach next to it they kick you out because you are not part of that hotel (while the locals can sit in your hotels beach taking your space). The beach is also filled with rocks so you have to have some water shoes, sand beach is 20mins away towards the city.

The city itself is also a bit far (25ish min walk) this hotel is the last one on the promenade. The breakfast & dinner in the hotel is absolutely HORRIFIC, not representing the italian cusine at all, it is disgusting, boring and repetative, out of the 6 days we were there we managed to eat maybe 1 half decent meal at the hotel dinner.

The maids wake you up multiple times early morning to come clean your room, if you tell them later they dont clean your room unless you search for them again during the day to specifically tell them which...

The hotel is beautiful from the outside with a stunning view at Cefalu city center. It has a very nice pool but the beach is a bit far away- you have to cross around 70stairs and walk for 300m til you reach it. The waiters in the restaurant and the animations guys are very nice as well as well as the old gentleman that is selling the tickets to Palermo outside of the hotel.

The furniture is falling apart, everything you touch colapses - except for the bed 😆 Dinner is served in a chaotical way when a bigger group arrives, there is a stampedo at 7:30 since diner is served very late and this causes chaos at the restaurant. Breakfast is very modest and the same every day The electricity disappears a few times a day after the rain There are no buses in front of the hotel, nor stores or cafes, you need to walk 25 min to Cefalu-dont forget the 70 stairs The key was not working properly at all, we had to go to the reception a few days in a row to get a new one each time The receptionists could have been nicer The watersink started leaking a few days after we arrived, the last day you couldnt press the water althoug the...

Hotel raczej budżetowy - niższa cena względem okolicznych obiektów kosztem jakości oferowanych usług.

Położenie – dość dobre, bliskość morza, w linii prostej ok. 200m, ale plaża hotelowa dopiero 800m ze względu na skalisty charakter linii brzegowej (trzeba zejść stromymi schodami i dojść dobrze oświetlonym deptakiem w stronę Cefalu). Na plaży hotelowej dostępne bezpłatnie leżaki, parasole i ratownicy. Niedaleko 2km centrum Cefalu – malownicze miasto, z wąskimi uliczkami pośród zabytków i kafejek. Do lotniska w Palermo ok 90km, ale transfer autostradą dość szybki ok. 1h20min. Po jednej stronie hotelu ruchliwa droga, po drugiej linia kolejowa (może to przeszkadzać w nocy). Naprzeciwko jest dyskont spożywczy sieci HB – dobrze zaopatrzony i z niskimi cenami (polecam).

Zakwaterowanie - pokoje czyste, klimatyzowane, nie za duże, codziennie sprzątane, z wymianą ręczników włącznie. Urządzone w stylu lat 90-tych, z dużym, wygodnym łóżkiem, TV (ok 15 programów w tym 2 polskie), małą lodówką i łazienką z wanną zamiast kabiny prysznicowej (mydełka i szampon są w malutkich torebkach). Brakuje czajnika lub ekspresu, a tak starej głośnej spłuczki to jeszcze nie spotkałem. Możliwość wypożyczenia ręczników plażowych za 10E depozytu +5E każdorazowa wymiana (drogo). Układ hotelu jest trochę kłopotliwy – do skrzydeł bocznych trzeba chodzić łącznikami na niższych piętrach (nawet malutką windą trzeba się przesiadać, bo bezpośrednio na wyższe piętro w skrzydle się nie dojedzie) – utrudnienie w przenoszeniu bagażu, że o długości marszu nie wspomnę.

Wyżywienie – opcja Half-board, śniadania i obiadokolacje bardzo smaczne, ale codziennie jest to samo i nie za duży wybór (głównie dania warzywne, makarony, sałatki, 1 danie mięsne, 1-2 rybne, ciasta, soki). Za napoje do kolacji trzeba dodatkowo płacić (!!!), do śniadania wszystko w cenie. Liczba stolików jest duża, bez problemu można znaleźć wolny w klimatyzowanej sali lub na zewnątrz. Dostępny jest fajny hotelowy bar z przekąskami, deserami, napojami w dość atrakcyjnych cenach w porównaniu z konkurencją, na tyle że korzystają też miejscowi (np. drink 6-8E, lody w bułce 3E, kawa 1.5E, herbata 2.5E). W weekendy możliwe lokalne wesela na hotelowej sali bankietowej (ciekawe).

Atrakcje – ciepłe, czyste morze i duży basen hotelowy z leżakami i parasolami, z wodą chłodniejszą niż w morzu (zaleta). Animacje sporadyczne, nie wzbudzające zainteresowania. Dobry punkt wypadowy na zwiedzanie Cefalu (1-2 dni) jak i okolicy samochodem, autobusem lub pociągiem z Cefalu (polecam). Chodzenie pieszo odpada ze względu na całkowity brak pobocza i duży ruch na wąskich drogach (niebezpieczne). Obsługa hotelu jest miła, mówiąca po angielsku (poza hotelem też raczej można się dogadać). Dla spragnionych wrażeń dostępne są wycieczki po wyspie z polskich biur podróży lub od lokalnych organizatorów w Cefalu. Zalety: smaczne posiłki i dobry bar hotelowy czyste, klimatyzowane pokoje, z codziennym sprzątaniem i wymianą ręczników hotelowa plaża z ratownikami i czysty, duży basen bliskość dyskontu spożywczego

Wady: hałas od drogi i linii kolejowej w nocy monotonny i ograniczony wybór dań przy posiłkach, odpłatność za napoje do kolacji brak czajnika/ekspresu w pokojach, brak dystrybutorów wody dla gości trochę daleko do plaży, do której schodzi się po ok 100 stromych schodach (z powrotem...
