Ristorante Pizzeria Dandy's — Restaurant in Città della Pieve

Beautifully located at the end of the main and central road of the town, this little restaurant has, in fact, a rather large terrace, covered enough to shield you from the summer sun.

The service was courteous, though not the most attentive. The produce used is of high quality: you can really taste it in the meat, like the beef tagliata or the hamburger. Both were cooked well, though the tagliata was most likely set on a pan with slightly too high of a temperature, which caused the outside to be well done while only the core remained rare. Great fries.

Tip: If it's too warm, ask for the fan to be turned on, there's a big one hanging on the right side of...

AVOID There are many other places in town. We were told to wait at the door to be seated inside while the waitress come and went to the kitchen prior to seating us. Service took forever, it was hot inside only a roof fan on a very low speed, the finally took our order, we asked for Moretti beers and were brought that horrible flat Sardenian beer Ichnusa, the pizza was half raw, as you can see in the picture one half was thicker like a napoli type pizza, the other half thin and crunchy like a roman pizza. It's only pizza for heaven's sake. Staff had no english whatsover, not even yes and no. Was not even that...

Armatevi di santa pazienza! Siamo stati a cena in questa struttura una sera di agosto in mezzo alla settimana.

Mi sono fidato delle recensioni che in genere sono valide ma... ogni tanto si incappa in qualche scivolone.

Il locale è molto pulito, così come i servizi igienici.

Abbiamo ordinato un hamburger di chianina con patatine per il bimbo e due primi e due secondi per noi.

Arrivati alle 20:20 l'hamburger arriva alle 21:25! e i primi alle 21:35.

Eh si, proprio così! 1 ora e un quarto con il locale a metà della capienza!

Beh, se il resto fosse andato per il verso giusto avrei anche sopportato il ritardo ma purtroppo no.

Abbiamo ordinato degli spaghetti alla chitarra con vongole e granella di pistacchi. Purtroppo le vongole erano vecchie! non tutte a dire la verità, qualcuna aveva anche un buon sapore ma la maggior parte erano letteralmente affogate con il vino e quando si metteva in bocca la vongola era quasi rancida.

Arrivano i secondi dopo 45 minuti dal primo. Il primo dei due secondi consisteva in "Polpo scottato con crema di piselli": beh il polpo era riuscito a scappare lasciando dietro di se solo due tentacoli che, afferrati, sono stati messi nel piatto insieme alla crema di piselli.

Il secondo dei due secondi era una frittura mista di pesce. Mi aveva informato la cameriera che consisteva in gamberi, calamari, persico e paranza. La paranza era scappata col polpo, mentre tutto il resto necessitava sicuramente di qualche minuto in più di cottura.

Unica nota positiva l'Hamburger, buono ed abbondante.

Purtroppo andare a mangiare fuori è un evento che non succede tutti i giorni, anzi ultimamente, con "l'aiuto" del covid, nemmeno tutte le settimane. "Sprecare" una serata come questa è veramente un peccato!
