Unfortunately, the first good impression was quickly destroyed. The service was very nice and unfortunately that's where it ends. The portions are so small that I don't know if a child could eat enough of them. So the price in relation to the size of the meal is a complete joke. Moreover, the card contains information about the so-called a “coperto” fee of 2 euros - not a word that it is a fee payable per person. So for 5 people it cost us an additional 10 euros, and we sat there max. 45min. When asking for the bill yourself, you have to go to the counter and settle the bill, so I don't understand why the service fee is so high. Moreover, we were cheated and were charged not 5 dishes, but 6... So we left unfed and cheated out of 21 euros. As a rule, I don't waste time writing bad reviews, only good ones - so on the positive side, as I mentioned above, nice service and, despite very small portions, the food...

Posto carino, essenziale ma piatti gustosi. Siamo stati sia a colazione che a pranzo, la vista sul lago merita e i prezzi sono onesti. Le due stelle sono dovute a un fatto che mai mi era accaduto prima d’ora e che mi ha lasciata esterrefatta: arrivati al quasi termine del pranzo mio marito porta il bimbo in bagno e nel frattempo sfoglio la carta dei dolci dov’è illustrata la dicitura “dolce della casa” con foto (quale una crostata). Pertanto, arrivata la cameriera, chiedo quali siano i dolci del giorno e nello specifico se c’era la crostata, ottenendo risposta negativa. Rispondo che non c’è problema e che aspetto un attimo il marito per ordinare. Non appena tornano i due porto mio figlio a scegliere il dolce che si trova proprio accanto al bancone del bar e lì c’è la suddetta cameriera che esclama ad alta voce “c’è una cliente che mi ha chiesto il dolce, glieli ho elencati tutti, mi ha chiesto se c’era la crostata. Le ho detto di no e mi ha risposto che aspettava il marito che tornasse dal bagno”: il tutto con un tono borioso e di scherno di fonte alle colleghe nella ricerca di comprensione o di una battuta di contro (che per fortuna, almeno da parte loro, non è arrivata). Peccato che la cliente di cui stava sparlando, ovvero io, FOSSI PROPRIO DI FRONTE A LEI e sia restata completamente interdetta di fronte alla scena, disgustata e completamente a disagio!!! Non capisco cosa ci fosse di male nel chiedere di aspettare un minuto, dato che c’ero solo io al tavolo… mi ritengo una persona fin troppo educata e sul momento spiazzata e senza parole non ho replicato, salvo poi, dopo aver pagato, specificare l’accaduto alla titolare (credo) che non ha comunque inteso o non ha voluto intendere l’accaduto, né tantomeno scusarsi. La cameriera cafona, essendo nei dintorni e accorgendosi, ha fatto finta di nulla. In compenso me ne sono andata, salutando, senza ricevere alcun saluto da nessuno, quasi fossi stata io la maleducata avendo fatto presente questo fatto...a mio avviso grave per qualsiasi bar, ristorante o chiosco che sia! The Lido is a real gem, right on the beach at Lake Como. It is great for kids and families, and they have a very wide-ranging menu. I like to stop there in the afternoon for a fresh German beer on tap. The owners, Suzanne and Cesare, are always very friendly, accommodating and easy going, and they and their staff (which also includes their children!) make everyone feel at home. It's really a little oasis on the lake. I have also tried their daily menus, which are really good and inexpensive, with things like scallopine with mushrooms and even risotto with Taleggio cheese and pear.
