Carmensita non fare il pollo...e altro! — Restaurant in Como

Wow Wow Wow - We had the most amazing tasty Chicken here tonight. Carmensita's is a wonderful restaurant slightly off the beaten track But so worth going too. First of all Tamara and Francesco greeted us and welcomed us in and showed us to our table. It's decorated beautifully with lovely soft music playing in the background. We started with some Procecco and a Beer and they brought out a basket of tasty bread rolls. The menu has lots to choose from and is very reasonably priced for such an upmarket establishment. We choose the Grilled Chicken with roasted potatoes and vegetables - Wow - it all came on a platter and it was Amazing to look at but more important Amazing to eat. We followed this with that classic delicious dessert Tiramisu and coffee. The attention from Tamara and Francesco was outstanding and we felt very welcomed and important while we were there. Thank you to The Chefs for producing such a tasty platter of food and especially to Tamara and Francesco for looking after us so well. Went there last evening and had a great experience. It was a 45 minute walk from our hotel, but well worth the exercise (walking off dinner was good too). We arrived early evening and we were the first guests. Thus, we were greeted by the owner, maitre d', chef, and charmer! He's very kind, helpful, and accommodating. The outside of the restaurant is unpretentious, but the inside is brand-new with real stonewall facades, indirect lighting, and hardwood tables and chairs. We started with Gin and Tonics in huge goblet glasses along with bread and oil/butter and then moved onto a simple and delicious tomato homemade pasta dish. Next course was a half broiled chicken for two that sat on a large platter piled high with seasoned potatoes and lots of grilled vegetables. The chicken was moist and tender and expertly seasoned. On our first day we ended up here a bit by chance – and instantly fell in love with this place! ❤️ The carbonara and calamari were absolutely delicious, and the chef not only cooks wonderfully but is also incredibly friendly – he helped us choose our dishes and we couldn’t have been happier with the choice.

On the second day we came back on purpose – this time the chicken was amazing, and the chocolate soufflé was simply pure heaven!

A huge plus goes to the service – both the chef and the super friendly Italian lady create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. You feel more like you’re visiting friends than dining in a restaurant. Delicious food, wonderful people and a fantastic vibe – we absolutely recommend this place!
