If you visit Tirano after taking the famous Bernina Express, this restaurant is just located at the station entrance. Seating is a bit cramped though, but food is yummy. I quite enjoyed all the dishes I ordered today.
Lasagne di casa was a heavy dish. But delicious. Thick lasagna sheets with heavily flavoured meat in between. Loved the meaty overall taste of the dish.
Spaghetti aglio olio looked deceptively simple. I actually felt disappointed when it was first served. Till I tasted it. Sublime taste with a beautifully textured and cooked spaghetti. Totally different from the visual expectation. Lombata di maiale or pork loin came drenched with a cheesy milky sauce. The meat was nicely cooked, tender and sauce was light but tasty. A bit too generous and had trouble finishing it.
I found the quattro carni or pizza with 4 meat generous in terms of cheese and meat, well baked, tasty pizza base. The tiramisu was pretty standard, delicious but not exceptional. But a good end to the...

We also ordered L'insolita carbonara, which turned out to be very underwhelming. Most of it was just dough, the cheese was flavourless. The only thing that made it somewhat edible was adding spicy chili oil.
To make things worse, the wine was terrible as well – it honestly tasted like a cheap €2 bottle from Lidl.

at first, we had low expectations since the place was surprisingly empty during lunchtime. however, it turned out to be a hidden gem for handmade pasta and pizza!
everything we ordered had a comforting, home-cooked quality to it. the menu was extensive, offering all the classic italian favorites, and the prices were reasonably affordable.
a big thanks to the staff for being so accommodating and friendly. despite our rush, they managed to prepare two pastas and two pizzas for takeaway in just 15 minutes so we can make it in time for...
