Ristorante Pizzeria La Luna — Restaurant in Dongo

We decided to go for dinner based on the many positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect them at all.

First of all, the location: the restaurant is tucked away in the backyard of a field, between what looks like an old car graveyard and some small factories—not exactly a welcoming setting.

It took more than 40 minutes for anyone to approach our table (and ask us for drinks!), not mentioning to take our order: the only person allowed to do so was the owner herself.

The food was average—the cotoletta and pizza were nothing special. On a positive note, the young waiters and the older lady on the terrace, were pleasant (hence the 3 stars)

However, the service at the end was very disappointing. The cashier said nothing beyond asking for payment—no smile, no “thank you,” no inquiry about how our meal went. When we left, not a single staff member said goodbye or wished us a good evening, even though 4–5 of them, including the owner, were...

I cannot express how incredible our experience was at this restaurant! Don't get me wrong, if you're looking for fine dining, you should look elsewhere. However, if you're looking for authentic, extremely friendly, unbelievable value for the area food, then go to La Luna! Our meal cost €40 for delicious house wine, lemonade, two huge pizzas and two desserts, including service. The waiters were absolutely fantastic, especially the more senior of the men. The fact that lots of locals were eating here told us that this was not an awful tourist trap. Please don't be put off by people saying the view is rubbish. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich, aber vielseitig. Das Küchenteam legt großen Wert auf frische Zutaten und kreative Kombinationen. Pasta und auch Pizza sind sehr zu empfehlen.

Freundlicher und professioneller Service

Der Service ist zuvorkommend, aufmerksam und herzlich. Fragen zur Speisekarte oder Weinempfehlungen werden kompetent und freundlich beantwortet. Man merkt, dass hier echte Gastgeber am Werk sind, denen das Wohl ihrer Gäste am Herzen liegt.
