Pasticceria Generoso — Restaurant in Ercolano

Wow! This is a wonderful hidden gem!! ✨ All desserts are great quality, freshly baked, incredibly delicious and affordable!

We entered by chance when we visited Ercolano and we came back 3 times in our Italy trip, even from Sorrento especially for the chocolate Sfogliatella, chocolate small desert, chocolate croissant, apricot dessert and apple desert. We also recommend the delicious hazelnut/nocciola ice-cream and fresh chocolate. I was really impressed they make the chocolate on-spot!!

We stayed across the road for 4 days. My husband became addicted to the chocolate logs. I loved the gelato. They have a good selection of gluten free treats. We went late on Sunday morning and the place was frantic with locals getting boxes of creative deliciousness, presumably for their family but maybe just for themselves. After reading other reviews I will buy a sfogliatelle (is that right?) If you are walking to the train after visiting Herculaneum it is on the left near the top of the hill. You will be hot and tired. A visit here will make you feel much better. No tables but handy...

I am not saying this lightly: this is the best "pasticeria" I've tried in Italy - from Milano to Sicily. Everything has a delicate, natural flavor with perfect texture. Nothing is too sweet. You can eat continuously every one of their pastries. In the morning everything is warm and incredibly fresh and tasty. Absolute perfection! I would come back to Napoli just for this!! Please open a second one...
