Belvedere San Nicola — Restaurant in Erice

How to describe in few lines the superb staying that I had at the Belvedere San Nicola in Erice? The Location is fantastic just on the cliff on top of Trapani in front of the Egadi islands. The New Owner Elena & Antonino are great, very friendly and professional. I had 10 days at the Belvedere and everyday was better then the other, Everything start in the morning with a gorgeous breakfast prepared by Elena, freshly baked cake and bread, home made Marmalade, fruit from their Garden, freshly squeezed Sicilian orange juice, home made cheeses, and farm made cold cuts, everything served al Fresco in the garden, in between Oleander , Fruit, trees and Palms. We spent the day visiting around the country and the beaches to then back to the Hotel and have personalized aperitivo in front of the Sunset drinking Antoninos, Creation and warm stuzzichini….||To then go for dinner in the Veranda of the Hotel over viewing the Egadi Islands , where you can taste the best existing ingredients in Sicily, prepare with Class and fantasy by the Kitchen team and Served by the Professional Maitre Piero. ||To dont forget the great selection of local wine and the private Oil collection that they offer as degustation with warm entre`.||I had travel the great part of the Globe and not even in some of the Best and Exclusive Hotel I had find the real sense of Hospitality and Professionalism that I had find In The Belvedere !||Bravi Elena and Antonino keep on with the great job and Thank you...

After a busy week touring in Sicily, we were really looking forward to our 3 night stay in this hotel, however we were extremely disappointed with the hotel and regret staying there. The grounds and views are fabulous, but we never felt welcome or at ease in the place. The hotel’s main business seems to be catering for weddings and large parties, we felt as if we were a hindrance. The staff were not friendly or welcoming. We had to ask for sun loungers and parasol to relax near the swimming pool, ordering soft drinks or water from the bar was an ordeal, etc. ||The fresh coffee and croissant at breakfast were nice, but other than that I would not rate the breakfast at all. Yoghurts or fresh fruit would have been nice and easy to provide.||||The rooms are really hot, there is no air conditioning or a fan. Also, there were weddings on two of our 3 night stay (lots of people, loud music, fireworks, cars coming and going, dogs barking) which went on into the early hours of the morning so we did not get any sleep. If you plan on staying here I recommend that you ask in advance if they have any weddings or events booked in.||It is difficult to find, so ring in advance for directions.||I would not stay here and I would not recommend this hotel.
