I fell in love with an unbelievably tasty eggplant sandwich called Trapanese. At first, I was skeptical as I do not eat bready sandwiches often but since I love eggplant, I took a chance and did not regret it for a second. Hidden gem alert in Erice! Stopped by this little panini shop and it turned out to be one of the tastiest surprises of the whole trip. You could taste the love in it. what really stood out was the owner -the lady carefully watched us eating and was very happy when we thanked her for a good food. You could tell she really cares and takes pride in her work. If you’re in Erice, skip the tourist traps and find this place. Wish I could give less than one star, the owner yelled at me and my wife because we wanted plain bread for my 2 year old, she said no and made a sandwich out of the bread with stuff in it, started screaming saying that I didn’t make her do her job, when I told her I needed what I asked for a little kid.
