This is a peach of a restaurant tucked away on a smaller street leading to the old market square. We, a party of five had a lingering lunch while resting our feet from a mornings worth of walking. The fish dishes were exceptionally good, particularly the cod and sea bass. We also enjoyed two pasta dishes, one with eggplant the other sausage. Table wine was very smooth and the bread was very fresh and crispy, reminding me of the Italian bread I enjoyed in my youth in CT. Service was excellent, English was no problem. Prices were very reasonable and noise level was relatively low. Get to the restaurant early, the kitchen opens at 12:30 and getting there before one is a good plan. By 1:30 the restaurant is full, at least on the Sunday we were there. Overall this is a recommended restaurant, getting four clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale ( five stars on the...

The restaurant is located in the context of the village of Erice, which I recommend reaching by cable car, after purchasing tickets online, in order to skip the ever-present queue, especially in the summer. I strongly advise against reaching Erice by car. Once you reach the main street and have made the traditional stop at the Grammatico pastry shop, after passing it on the left, there are some stairs that lead down, at the end of which, moving to the left, you inevitably end up in the restaurant. The room is large and spacious and the staff, in addition to being efficient, is also very helpful. The dishes I tasted were well packaged, tasty. The service was fast. I also took a quarter of a liter of white wine and half a sparkling mineral water, and a flute of Donnafugata passito. This is a restaurant where you eat well and I recommend it if you...

Ristorante Monte Saint Giuliano, Erice. After sightseeing in amazing Erice, we needed to get out of the cool wind and ducked into this restaurant for lunch on the recommendation of our guide. Fantastic choice. The restaurant is unassuming off the cobbled high street but delivers wonderful food served by excellent waiters. We had perfectly cooked Paccheri Siciliana, pasta with sausage, tomato, eggplant, herbs and cheese, succulent swordfish in a pistachio crumb, a tender and flavoursome Bistecca Fiorentina and sides of salad and roasted vegetables. Great value wines. As we were having such a great meal, we also had dessert - Tiramasu and Almond Parfaits. We decided this was the best meal we have had in Sicily - what a surprise find. Excellent value and highly recommended.
