Very rude service at the deli / takeaway area! General price for sweet pastries was 1,5€ but I was charged 3,5€ for a tiny miniature cannoli it seemed the lady just wanted to grab my 5€ bill and toss me out of there … just straightforward and unjustly rude because my friend used the customer/ client designated bathroom ?! Really was that snapping in Italian in my face necessary? like I wouldn’t get the energy you were throwing back at me … plus my mother tongue is also Latin based so yeah I got your message loud and clear ! Cassatele wasn’t amazing but ok, cannoli was also ok although 3,5€ for a bite size cannoli without even a sparkle of pistachio! Left feeling almost regretful of picking Erice for the day’s destination! A land may be beautiful but it’s people are the true key and charm! Wasn't going to write a review but ive been sent a WhatsApp message looking for one, me and my partner went in before exploring erice. My partners fish food pasta was reasonable. I asked for a plan burger and the server understood I didnt want the tomato or lettuce or onions, but I still got the burger with everything on it. That didnt bother me taking it off myself but after eating 1/3 of the burger i realised it was very pink bloody and still extremely raw so i cut it in half to see if i was paranoid but i was not there was blood on the plate etc. I said nothing but when i asked the server for the bill he went off and the manager came straight over asking why I didnt like it and didnt eat it. Owner was very nice and apologetic about it and toke the burger...

We passed by Erice during our roadtrip in Sicily.We were very hungry and disappointed because we hit the “siesta” and most restos were closed. II Rifugio di Enea turned out to be WAY better than an open touristy bar-restaurant. The food was AMAZING- we had the best bussiati with prawns and pistachio. The bread was also homemade and good quality. Drinks as well. Local beer great suggestion. Our waiter (unfortunately we didn’t ask for a name) was a local -very Italian- happy person who explained and suggested as much as possible. He also suggested the best local fish food we had in entire sicily and even alternatives. Thanks for that my friend. Out experience was definitely meant to be ;) Ciao...
