Piatti e fagotti is both a restaurant and a “gastronomia” or “brasserie” where you can have a quick lunch or in the evening you can have an aperitivo with some delicious “finger food”. When you reserve (strongly suggested) you have to tell if you want to dine or to have an aperitif. This review is about the brasserie/aperitif, not the restaurant. They however share the same kitchen and i am sure the quality is the same.
First the staff is super kind and friendly, nothing else to say. They do their best to accommodate and serve you. The barman love to talk about his creations. Cocktails are top notch, they have a list of their signature cocktails but you can ask for the classic ones or ask the barman to surprise you. (It’s actually surprising how tequila, pepper and truffles go well together). And they are convenient considering their quality.
You can order finger food here, the portions are not small and with one or two portions you can have a light dinner. Sharing is the secret here, so you can taste different plates. Ask if they gave any daily specials. I enjoyed all the food that was good quality and tasty, lot of fry food. They have few tables inside and outside and in front there is a public garden when they have places some tables and chairs and there some benches. You can drink and eat in the garden as well.
Price is right for the quality, you can have cocktails and food for around 20-25 euros per person, and you wont be disappointed. They do have...
Read moreMy partner and I was brought here by one of our friends as we were told it was good as he comes here with his parents from time to time. I’m here to say that the food did not disappoint us at all and was worth the money. My partner and I was amazed.
Seating outside can be pretty cramped especially when busy but it wasn’t an issue for us.
We had an amazing waiter who tended to our needs and was extremely patient when explaining the menu to us. However…there was another waiter who slightly disappointed me. My partners friend asked about whether we could have Bruschetta with just the tomatoes on as we didn’t want extras on it; we were told that the tomatoes are not currently in season so they are unable to do that. My partner quickly understood this, however his friend did not due to a language barrier and the waiter replied in a little condescending tone saying ‘He understands but you do not.’ which is not a way you speak to paying customers, but other than that, everything else was great
The food was top-notch and I will definitely be visiting here again during my next stay...
Read moreFood is averagely good for Florentine area, and I say this as a Florentine, service is average and in some cases pretty bad, had to ask oil and salt when the dish I had included a salad. But .... Prices.... Prices are outrageous, specially for locals, for a burger (less then 150g of good minced meat) chips and sauces and a micro salad all in one standard plate 14€ it's just ridiculous and this isn't included water. 2 euros just to sit down like I'm in some kind of 5 star restaurant I mean, it's a tiny restaurant on the street, you can't ask this kind of prices. The only plus is quality that is good in some cases but not the best, again it doesn't justify the pricetag, sorry.
Update 2022, same thing for food, but prices have gone up substantially. Not worth the money, at that price you can go in better restaurants.
