These reviews are very misleading because some of the people are talking about the town and not the villa - so the rating is very skewed on the villa. Visiting the villa felt like a scam and we wondered if the owners know what is going on. We made an appointment 6 weeks in advance and it took us 45 minutes to find the place once we arrived in Fiesole. There is no phone number so you can only communicate by email. When we eventually arrived, and pressed a bell to enter, we were immediately asked for our 15 euro - no hello, no welcome, just a very miserable man who was not Italian (who we took to be the the gardener perhaps) and who asked for the money (keep in mind it costs 10 euro to visit the Boboli gardens in Florence). He had no change for our 40 euro and told us there was nothing he could do about that. The garden and view is lovely, but you get the same views from the town and it takes just 10 minutes to walk around - you do not get to go inside the small villa. We had assumed we would at the very least be given some history or told something about the garden, but instead we got a pointed finger telling us to 'just start over there' and were made to feel bit stupid. I would strongly recommend not wasting your money and if we could find someone to report this...
Read moreDefinitely recommend for those who got free time and want to avoid Florence’s tourist. This is the hidden gems near Florence and one of the most peaceful place I’ve been to. When you’re in the villa, you can see whole Florence from the garden.
You have to email to book an appointment for visiting this place prior. But i would have to say that house keepers wasn’t really friendly to me. You have to pay 20€ in cash if you go there by yourself and if you go in group it’s 15€ each for entrance fee but you can’t get in the house, only the front garden and the back garden (not the garden down stairs)
I would recommend to studied history and information about this villa before the visited. It will really help you enjoy...
Read moreBy appointment only, contact the villa online ahead of time is a must. For those who took classes, read books and watched documentaries of this famous villa, this is a thrilling place to be, to see it in person, and experience part of the villa (owner lives in the lower half). For casual visitors, it might be done in 30 min with a pretty view of the Arno Valley. But, where else in Florence one can claim a place to her own for the whole morning (owners and their...
