Pizzeria San Domenico — Restaurant in Fiesole

Where to begin…We LOVED this charming restaurant in the hills above Florence! We were staying nearby, working and touring in the area, and returned night after night - we even had ‘our table’ by the end of the trip. The food is wonderful and served by friendly staff! The value is phenomenal! Everything we ordered, from the wine to dessert, was delicious, homemade-style fare. We had pizza & pasta & appetizers & wine & desserts and every bite was delicious (and truthfully, we are picky!) We lucked out and it happened to be the 40th Anniversary/Birthday of the restaurant that particular week and they were celebrating! A couple of the nights we were treated to dessert and Prosecco;-)) Honestly, miss it more than almost anything else from our two-week trip to Florence, Tuscany & Rome. Very nice and good restaurant! The location does not seem too special at first glance but we'd totally recommend a visit! The pizza was delicious and the tiramisu the best we had during our time in Italy this year - and we have had plenty tiramisu in the last few days, believe me ;) I had a Marinara which was indeed excellent, my fiance had a classic prosciutto and was also very happy with his choice. I got in with my parents and we ordered pasta and two pizzas one for me and one for my mother, and carbonara, the carbonara tasted great. However, the rest of the meal was disappointing, my pizza did not taste like pizza and was very soggy, and my father's pasta was hard, the service was fine but for some reason my pizza took 20 minutes unlike the other people that came after us and somehow got their pizza before me, would not advise going here, plenty of much better places if you go higher to the...
