Il Vinaino — Restaurant in Florence

We lived nearby and walked by several times, thought it looked authentic and cozy so we said why not. When we got in we got this weird table hidden away from the rest of the restaurant. We ordered burrata and grilled vegetables as first course, came out cold, they didn't even bother heating it up before serving. I ordered a stew as main, and had to add potatoes, the food came and looked plain and boring. No salad or anything, just a blob of stew. It was really salty and dry. My mother ordered pasta which also looked like it was cooked by a very unmotivated chef. The sauce was watery, and the pasta was uncooked (NOT Al dente). The waiter was stressed for no reason, we called on him to ask some questuons but he left quickly as soon as he answered the first. It became a stressful stay which was very disappointing.

Very sad that the place doesn't perform the way it looks. I don't recommend eating here unless you like watery pasta, or chewing on...

Food was ok in terms of quality but very blunt tasting, small portions and no condiments on the plates. Just 9 pieces of cheese on the cheese plateau, some thin slices of cured meats on the meat plateau, a steak with no salt or pepper, semi-cold and just some rocket with thin slices of parmesan on top, no olive oil or dressing or something else and cold cheap bread on the side. Waiter was rude, he seemed like he wanted us to finish quickly so he can get rid of us. They don't seem to like tourists on this restaurant. He was more talkative and generous with locals than with us. We paid almost 80 euros for tasteless stuff anyone can make better at home. Don't...

Sad to complain as I saw this place a few times before we walked in, as we are living nearby. It looks cute and authentic on the outside however the food was way below average and to be frank terrible. Stale bread which was cold and tasteless. The Tuscan vegetable soup was inedible- shocking considering how good and simple it can be, tasted more like a curry or dal. Gnocchi tomato sauce was below average.
