DISCRIMINATION if you are a tourist - they have double standards for food, service and price if you are a foreigner/tourist. If we could give 0 stars we would.
We went there for dinner as tourists based on the good reviews and the decent price of 20 euros for two courses and a side dish. After a terrible experience we were left wondering how there could be such a disconnect between the reviews and our experience. Many of the positive reviews have either low review counts or are Italian names, but the negative reviews seem to come from tourists.
Food: We ordered a pesto risotto, spaghetti with tomato/basil for first course and beef fillet with white wine/onion sauce/tomato and a chicken slices for second course. The spaghetti was just average, but the pesto was ridiculously salty. The beef was too tough/hard to chew and the chicken did not look anything like the picture in the menu. It was severely under-portioned, and parts of it were crunchy (undercooked or old chicken). We had also spinach and potato side dishes. The spinach was old/spoiled and totally inedible and the potatoes ended up being chips/crisps instead, which was baffling. It seemed like they were trying to cheap out on giving us actual full potatoes.
Drink: We had one glass of 'red wine' and one glass of 'white wine'. They didn't specify the names of the wine and probably for good reason, the wines seemed like they had gone bad/spoiled - the white had a chemical taste and the red tasted like it pure alcohol with food colouring (no grape taste at all).
Service: No smile when taking our order and it seemed like we were a burden instead of being welcomed. The 'potatoes' were delivered really late, after we had finished most of the meal.
Price: We paid 20 euros each plus they added a 2 euro service charge per person. Reading another review from a tourist, it appears that we were overcharged - tourists get charged the service fee while locals did not. Clear case of discrimination if so.
For perspective, we have visited Venice, Milan, Florence and Rome on our Italian trip. This was BY FAR the worst meal we have had. We got sucked in by the 'good' reviews and trying to save a little bit of money. We wished we paid more for an actual meal instead of this disaster, or even picked up fast...

I have been to so many Italian restaurants all over Tuscany and the food here tastes like ready-made supermarket meals. To be fair, I’ve even had better microwaveable meals. My ravioli al ragu was very salty, the ragu was also watery and there was barely any meat. I also had tortino di patate, which also tasted like a microwave meal.
My partner and I each had a menu which includes primo, secondo, and contorno. He also had a glass of wine and I only drank water. Our friend only ordered a primo, which was a sardine pasta, and was quoted 15€. She did not have anything else. Her pasta was also extremely salty and badly seasoned.
In addition, the waiters did not want to give us a copy of the bill with the details at first, only quoting us 60€ for the whole order. They only gave it to us after we kept budging them about it.
The only ”positive“ thing about this restaurant is the short amount of time they needed to bring us the meal, which in retrospect would have been a sign that all of the food are just heated food.
This is not a real Italian restaurant. You’re better off getting a panino in the city center where the tourists are. This is the worst meal I have ever had in Italy. Any avid homecook can make better meals than this restaurant.
To add insult to injury, the unfriendly waiters told us to leave seconds after we paid, even though our friend was still in the restroom. We couldn’t even wait at the table for...
Read moreIf you are thinking of dining here, DO NOT. I would never go to this restaurant again. I ordered the price fixed menu and my first course was never cleared after 45 minutes, even though other tables around me continued to be served. Rather than wait for the food, I instead found the server finally and asked for the check; she apologized to me for the experience. Thinking I would just pay and leave, the chef then appeared from the kitchen with my entree and berated me, saying if I wanted fast service to go to McDonald’s, even after I said that my table had been forgotten about. He returned several minutes later and said that he was in fact wrong. I said that I just wanted the bill, and he once again berated me, arguing with me that I had no manners because I would not let him finish his apology. Other patrons in the dining room started leaving after seeing the chef’s unprofessional behavior. I still paid for my meal just so I could leave the terrible environment. I also saw locals agitated by the wait to be sat, too, so it seems that not just tourists like me have poor experiences. Waste of 40 euros. I would never return here and would never recommend this restaurant to locals...
