I was dining alone and I started with the Crostini Toscani which was Chicken liver paté and bread. It was very hearty and generous. One order is about four pieces which was too much for me but they were nice enough to offer the option of just doing it half considering I wanted to do a full main.
The liver was fine and Im not sire of there was spinach mixed with it but definitely had a different taste to the others I have had.
For the mains, I ordered the Bistecca con Rucola which is good if you wanted to have both your protiens and your veggies. Since I have a small appetite, I didnt order sides anymore. Steak was good and tender. The arugula was very crisp as well. Blended well with the wine that I was having.
And of course to complete the experience, I had the tiramisu which for me was a real highlight. Im not a dessert person but this one, is super good. Its not too sweet which works for me as it balances the whole savory experience.
Service was fantastic, wait staff was attentive. I came in a little early so it wasnt as full as it was right about the time I was finishing.
All in all I recommend...
Read moreFood: 1/5 The food (we had Lasagne, Tagliatelle ai Funghi Porcini, Pizza Margherita, Pasta con Salmone) was mediocre with exception of the Antipasti (had Bruschetta and Formaggi mista) and the wine. Update: after 24 hours, two persons were sick. As both had tomato sauce in their pasta, it may be the culprit. Also the funghi might have been bad or unsufficiently prepared Apart from that food, all had the same food within 24h after.
Service: 3/5 The service was professional but a bit pushy and didn't seem to like their professionalism that much. Paying took a bit of time.
Ambiente: 4/5 Was the main reason we chose the place and it was fully ok.
Position to city center: 4/5 Not too far from the Santa Maria Novella. Therefore easy to reach and in walking distance on a dinner out.
Servicing speed: 5/5 Everything was very quickly served. Very good.
Price: 3/5 In comparison to surrounding options to eat rather pricey.
Summary: 3/5 If not looking for the ambiente, I would recommend other options. If going out for good wine (we had the house wine Sant'Agnese Rosso) and some Antipasti,...
Read moreI had never feel so mistreated at a restaurant.
I had a very rude waiter who started yelling at my husband for asking for a cocktail menu The waiter got back at us saying that in Italy they only drink wine or maybe a spritz. I wasn’t sure which drink I wanted to order so I asked for water and the waiter seem to be very annoyed by that. This situation made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. I don’t want to get yelled at, I just want to eat and have a good time.
I did enjoy the shrimp soup that I had as an appetizer, but I had the curry chicken as my main dish and it tasted like the chicken was spoiled so I could not finish the plate. Hoping I don’t get food poisoning.
Some other customers try to ask a question and the same waiter kept laughing and saying “this Americans” and laughing mocking the customers and commenting with other locals “do you want a cappuccino like the Americans”. I’m not American but I felt utterly uncomfortable and ask for the check right after. I can’t believe the unpleasant experience that I had, I feel so...
