Bistrot del Porticciolo — Restaurant in Genoa

Resturant atmosphere and location is great. Facing the sea and simple but make it looks like fine dine. The team is small but running and trying to serve it is best. We do requested a plate that they don’t provide, but still they managed to get it from the neighboring one and served it to us. It is located near an old crowded living place with direct access to a swimming area, a sandy one. The vibe and the atmosphere is unbelievably great. Good taste was great and authentic. I felt like eating a real local dishes that I never tried before with a great taste. I beleive it is a must visit restaurant to visit in Genova, not only for the location or the food quality, but also for the great experience it provides. Try to book in advance as it is always crowded. I prefer to take a taxi as the parking is hard there, and if you get the chance to choose the weather, pick a colder weather...

I enjoyed a wonderful long lunch at Bistrot del Porticciolo today. Despite being a solo traveller today and with only limited Italian language skills, the staff were wonderfully welcoming and kind. I was given a table with a great view of the water and allowed to linger over a very enjoyable lunch. The spaghetti alla vongole was a highlight, containing so many delicious clams. Lobster pasta only shell of lobster with 2 bits of meat the size of 1 euro each. Recommend not pairing mullet fish with ravioli had bones and scales through out this type of fish is to hard to eat with ravioli. Calamari with potatoes when it says potatoes you would expect whole potatoes not in a puree menu needs updating. Beautiful view, below average service.
