The view is incredible. We were very excited to be having such a romantic tea, on our very first day in Ischia. We ordered the tomato bruschetta, the lobster linguine and the rabbit gnocchi (no actual rabbit pieces/slices in it. If you want rabbit, it will cost you another 12 euros) . When we were seated we were served water straight away and given menus. A positive start. We were a bit disappointed that 30 minutes later we still hadn't had our order taken. Finally the manager , who was lovely, came over and took our order. Around an HOUR AND A HALF later , the same manager called over from another table and asked if we wanted to order....... We told him we already had and he spoke to a waiter who proceeded to bring TWO menus over and asked us what we wanted.
My husband pointed out we'd already ordered and he said basically: yes please show me. We showed him the dishes and he said 2 minutes. Initially we thought he'd gone to find the order, until it struck me , he brought 2 menus over.
Well, another 20 minutes went by (at this point the table beside us who had sat down only 15 minutes before this point) were served their starters.
Finally! The bruschetta arrived and it was very fresh and tasty. The mains came swiftly after they cleared our first plates, but eating our tea at 11 at night when we sat down at 8:40 ish was absolutely ridiculous. Completely soured our experience.
The food wasn't even hot, though it was tasty.
The bill with the coperto charge blew is away at its steepness £69 in total (£9 coperto for 2) and no discount for the 2 hour wait ! And to top it off , he asked us if we wanted to leave a tip.
Snail service and asking for a tip which is not customary in Italy... we won't...

We stumbled upon A Paranza while exploring Ischia a few years ago and it ended up being one of the best dining experiences of our trip. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of elegance and island charm.
The seafood is incredibly fresh – you can tell it’s straight from the local fishermen. We had the crudo di mare and a spaghetti alle vongole that was out of this world. But the ultimate dish was Zuppa di Pesce .Every bite was packed with flavor, and the presentation was just beautiful.
The service was impeccable – friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food and local wines. They recommended a white wine from the island that paired perfectly with our meal.
If you’re in Ischia and want an authentic, refined experience with a view and real heart, A Paranza is a must. I’d come back in a heartbeat. Highly...
Read moreI visited this place during a boat tour. We had 45 minutes to have a drink, since we had already eaten on the boat. At first, the head waiter greeted us in a welcoming way, but then he literally threw us out after the following events. First of all, he called us “gypsies” because we weren’t speaking their language and he realized we were speaking Romanian. Then, he told us to leave the terrace because we only wanted to have a coffee and some ice cream. Never in my life have I experienced something like this. The problem is that both my wife and I are educated people who always behave respectfully wherever we go. So shame on them for the racist and superior attitude with which we were treated by a man who deserves no respect. Shame!!!
And I am sure that the gentleman in question is uneducated enough not to understand the English language, so I kindly ask you to translate it for...
