I don’t even know how to describe my experience. I could not judge the quality of dishes because I was so frustrated and puzzled with the quality of communication I had received. To start with I would like to point out that I am learning Italian, and I could have some difficulties with understanding BUT even I could be wrong with some orders, the waitress should not tell me, surrounded with my kids with the definite tone of voise: “I would rather told you next time that everything is prenotated”
I have ordered the plate of fish (orado) to be devided for two of us, expecting that they will prepare the whole fish and divide in front if us, as it is doing almost everywhere in Italy but when I usked why the fish is not while, he verbalised me his negative attitude like: “ better not to allow as be there.”
Moreover we asked for pasta for kids, and the waitress had brought us that with cheese parmeggano already added, while in Italia it is always served divided. One of our kids had allergy, so I do not have a clue why they decided to give as all together, since it is supposed to be devided.
To sum up, everything mentioned above, regarding the food is not a bid deal , since the human attitude is so low and bad. No customers , specially mother with kids, is not deserved this awful communication.
When we were paying the bill, we if corse were unsatisfied with the service and asked some questions for such we had received the reply : “you’d better to go to another place next time!”
This us ridiculous! We are not at someone’s home! Since we are guesses - we supposed to get an...
Read moreWhat a wonderful place! It has a lovely view of the cathedral and the castle in either direction. We were welcomed graciously for lunch, sitting at one of the tables outside in the street.
We ordered the bruschetta and caprese salad to start. You can see and taste the freshness of the ingredients. So wonderful! For my main dish I asked if they could do gnocci arrabiatta style, and they did. It was served in a small clay pot. Everything in the dish was homemade. The tomato sauce was 100% fresh made and the spices just perfect. The gnocci was fresh and perfect. This may have been the best arrabiatta I've had in all of Italy an beyond.
The service here is fantastic. One of us go up to check out a store real quick while we waiting for our main dishes to arrive, and he didn't make it back before they came out. The owner of the place asked if we would like for him to keep the plate warm until he comes back. Such care!! We appreciated the gesture and it left such a great impression on us that we definitely plan on...
Read moreThis restaurant is in a great location in Ponte Ischia. Beautiful view of the castle. We were excited as friends recommended this. Great table and service started strong. Lead waiter spoke English. We noticed other tables with Italians got complimentary Prosecco, but not our table. Our order got jumbled - possibly due to ordering in English, so I ended up with a different pasta than I ordered. That was ok; food was good - but no acknowledgment (even after we asked). Then they didn’t give us the second course we ordered. Our waiter came back later and asked if we wanted dessert - we said no, and that we didn’t get our second course. So he said he’d take it off the bill - again no apology or acknowledgment. We chalked it up to just getting the typical tourist treatment. If you spoke Italian, you got better service. All in all,...
