I would come back to ischia JUST FOR THIS RESTAURANT. Doubted at first because of the suspicious 4.9 stars 500+ reviews. But WOW. They are 10/10!!!!

Bread The oil with herbs are so aromatic! And the bread is surprisingly soft and moister with the crunchy crust!! I love the bread!

-Octopus tentacles So fresh and perfectly executed! Slightly charred with crispy ends, but still tender and chewy in the inside!! The spicy strawberry sauce is not overpowering. Simple but delicious!

Linguine with peppers and clams We originally wanted the Zita octopus but they ran out of it so we had this one instead. THANKS GOD for giving us the chance to try this!!!!!! We didn’t like green peppers but this changed our mind!!! The clams are super fresh and clean. Well balanced flavours of the unique sweetness of the peppers and pine nuts. Love it! (Not to mention the al dente pasta and sauce consistency)

Grilled squid with ratatouille We had high expectations after the excellent starter and this pasta and they didn’t let us down! Just look at how mouthwatering this is. Don’t miss it is you love squid! Speechless.

Service All the staff has been amazing:) Thank you for helping us to replace the plates. Shoutout to Michele and Gio! Super attentive and informative! They know the dish so well and gave us the best suggestions everrr. We were in a rush to catch the ferry and they managed to serve the squid quickly. And also helping us to move the umbrella!

Amazing experience all around! We arrived on a hot day, looking for a nice lunch with a view, and found Auras based on Google reviews. We were so pleased. The view of the Castell is gorgeous, the service was top notch and pleasant, and the food simply delicious. I had the fried zucchini blossoms stuffed with ricotta (heaven!), followed by the beef tagliata that was perfectly charred on the outside, rose on the inside and served with arugula, aged parmesan and local ripened tomatoes. I finished the meal with the special dessert of the day, which was a peach and gin sorbet dusted with grated white chocolate… yum 😋.

The experience was so good, that we decided to stay overnight in Ischia and have dinner at Auras again that evening. The views at night are breathtaking, and the dinner was divine! We started with fresh oysters, and then I ordered the risotto which was cooked to perfection and had an exquisite mix of fresh herbs, cheese and vegetables.

The next day in Ischia, we planned to only enjoy a beach day, but found ourselves drawn back to Auras to enjoy their sublime cocktails… I had to have their fried, stuffed zucchini blossoms again, they were just too good, and of course the special dessert at the end!

My first visit to Auras was like something out of a classic Italian film. Fresh off the ferry from Naples we stopped in for lunch and it was everything I could have wished for. I value atmosphere as much as great food when looking for a place to eat on holiday and Auras delivered in spades on both counts. Think La Dolce Vita, Under The Tuscan Sun and Talented Mr Ripley (without the murder) rolled into one. Complete with soundtrack.

Unlike your regular tourist trap which I’ve been suckered into plenty believe me, this place had a menu selection with its eye on the future to keep things fresh but enough tradition that gave it the heart and soul of an authentic Italian restaurant without being stodgy. Attentive staff who were charming without being pushy or overbearing and the best aspect of the Castello from anywhere on the island that made me want to sit with my Aperol Spritz soaking in that view for hours. Oh and the best Tiramisu I’ve ever had. Period.
