Restaurant La Lampara — Restaurant in Ischia

This review is long overdue, but I must share what an absolute treat it was to have our wedding reception dinner and aperitivo here at La Lampara in July 2023. The dinner created by Chef Ciro Calise was so delicious and stunningly beautiful. We had five courses and each course was a work of art. Many guests - all passionate "foodies" said this was the best food they've ever had. We want to thank Anna and her team for organizing the most beautiful and memorable wedding evening for us. We had been looking forward to the dinner at La Lampara for over a year and wow did it deliver!! It surpassed our expectations in every way. The views were breathtaking and the entire evening was just magical. And I want to call out a special thanks to Chef Ciro and his team for accommodating our guests' special dietary restrictions. One of my friends can't eat egg, dairy or gluten and Chef Ciro not only accommodated her for each dinner course, but made her a special plate of appetizers just for her at the aperitivo hour. It made her so happy she was practically brought to tears. Thank you to everyone at La Lampara for being so wonderful to work with and for giving us the wedding dinner and evening...

I called to book a table for 4 around 10/15 min upfront in the evening because i wanted to celebrate my birthday here. They welcomed us in a very special way, we had a cake with us and they took it to store it in the fridge. The restaurant is located on the top floor of the building. It gives you a breathtaking view. The staff welcomed us in a very special way. The tables had even stools to place your handbags, so i can totally say it's well prepared for the maximal detailed service. The waiters were always active to fill your cups with wine and water. The menu is divided into 2 sides. 2 menus of the cheff with a course of different dishes. And the next pages you find a large menu of your choice. The food was really tasty and the cheff was very creative in the way of preparation of the dishes. You could even sit near the kitchen area to see your food being prepared from the glass wall. Next to the dining area was even the smokers area, very relaxing. I have seen even a gym area nearby, so i believe the hotel is well prepared for everything. It may be a bit pricey, but it's worth...

Wouldn’t recommend. We ordered an app and two main courses, and we were charged an extra 12€ because we shared the items. This was more than enough food for two people and thus had no reason to upcharge us. The items came to 50€ each when indicated on the menu as 38€. When we asked the host, he pointed to a tiny excerpt on the back of the menu that states they would do this. Nevertheless, if you feel a a portion is too small to be shared, the waiter should be expressing this at the point of ordering. We would’ve gladly agreed to a bigger portion for more money if recommended by the staff. Huge cash grab. Also the food is super basic for this high...
