This hotel restaurant is overrated and the staff will attempt to mislead you about pricing. They misrepresented the pricing on their menu for the catch of the day and charged us 61EUR for a small fresh fish that appeared to be around 20 in the menu. They didn’t give us a receipt until we asked for one and found the scam, they were not understanding and made some silly excuses like “that’s the way it is.”

The food was fairly good for the most part, but didn’t live up to the price. You can go just about anywhere in Ischia and have a better meal for 1/3 the price. The coffee pasta recommended by the waiter was terrible, undercooked beyond al dente, and I’ll-conceived. The 5-tomato pomodoro was delicious, but a bit sweet. The catch of the day was unremarkable, but satisfying, and certainly not worth 61EUR.

The amuse bouche before and after the meal were my favorite part of the meal. A shrimp cooked to perfection and a golden dessert puff that was as creative as it was delicious.

The staff is obsequious and doting, putting on the performance like that of a better restaurant.

I’d give them 3 stars if it were for the fact that...

The Aragonese restaurant is physically beautiful with rooftop views of the Aragonese Castle lit at night and amazing sea views. The food is superb because it is different than the traditional Italian cuisine that you can get anywhere - it’s a gourmet experience beautifully presented with a different handcrafted ceramic plates and platters and bowls with each course. The chef’s take great pride in the food and presentation- and the food and wine selection are fabulous! The service is flawless and friendly at the same time. All of the wait staff take great care of each and every customer. We ate at the Ristorante Aragonese last year and Otto (head waiter) remembered us and made us feel so welcomed back - that is remarkable to remember us from one year ago ! Otto makes sure that your dining experience is unforgettable and he is top notch !! Try Ristorante Aragonese - you will not be disappointed. We will be returning soon ! Signed Happy Customer...

The bad: they charged an exorbitant price for the fish that is seemingly on the menu, but in truth it is not. Nowhere on the menu do they indicate the price of whole fish or the price/kg, and the waiter did not mention the exorbitant price of the fish. The menu had catch of the day as a different price, but for portions of fish rather than a whole fish. The ambiance is a hotel restaurant. Also their reviews claim that the restaurant is creative. The only creative dish we had was coffee pasta with shrimp. Not good. Generally everything was overpriced. When we checked out they didn’t show us the bill. (!). Only once I requested it did they provide it. Only people who are screwing you over would do that!

The good: the upstairs terrace is lovely. The amuse bouche and final touch of semi-dessert were excellent and our...

We stayed at the hotel and decided to try the restaurant as well, especially as it was cold and rainy, and we didn’t want to venture out. The food was VERY good - michelin-esque. The service was equally on par, with what you should expect. My only comment is that is that this is really and truly a summer time experience, from the view (we had none as it’s pitch black when they open at 1930, as the sun has set at 1700) to the layout (all glass for maximum view and sunlight) which left it a bit drafty. My wife sent her risotto back as it had cooled significantly between playing and serving, my past was likewise, lukewarm. It’s a wonderful menu and staff - my best advice is that you should try to enjoy it in season, when you will undoubtedly enjoy it more!

Food is sublime. I recommend the ricciola tartare as a starter and octopus as main. The view towards the castle is romantic and elegant. The service is impeccable. The staff makes you comfortable from the very beginning and if you are looking for finest food experience that’s the place in Ischia. On top of it, the evening was even more pleasant thanks to a good dj who played loungy and soft music. Thank you to everyone and see you soon
