My family and I had dinner at the More e Macine, and we were impressed! The best meal I experienced during our exploration of the Langhe. This place offers you a ticket to ride the Piemonte food tradition by tasting the excellence of this region. The service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. The dining room wasn’t very curated either. All in all, I would definitely recommend More e Macine for a nice meal.

Here’s the experience in short:

Atmosphere & Place 4: To access the restaurant, we had to climb a steep stair, and my son couldn’t climb it by himself, so I had to hold him in my arms. On top of that, guess what? To reach our table, we had to go the deep stairs, and again, I had to hold my son in my arms. Of course, people with mobility issues cannot access the room at all. The dining room wasn’t very curated. Wine boxes surrounded our table, and the staff picked up the bottles while we ate.

Menu 10: There were lots of great dishes to choose from. I opted for the egg with the parmesan wafer. Just incredible. My wife had the “battuta di fassona”, the typical raw meat from this area. I loved the risotto with the blue cheese and pears; the pork ribs were just amazing. The tiramisu and the hazelnut cake were breathtaking!

Service 8: The staff's kindness makes this place an excellent spot for families. They showed empathy with my 2.5 YO son. The service was perfect in terms of time and precision.

Bill 7: Considering the location and the food quality it's fair...

“ I am the owner! I decide where you sit!“

My experience here was terrible. We came in while we had a reservation. We saw that a few tables were empty, but yet the owner commanded us to let us wait outside. I thought it was kind of strange because the tables were already available. Although I was relaxed about it, I saw some Italians coming in without a reservation and with his biggest smile he gave them the table. I went over to him with the intention to ask him if we could sit on the other table. Although I was standing right next to him and patiently waiting, the owner looked at me with an arrogant face and ignored me a couple of times. Finally I had the guts to ask him if with my kind charm if we could sit on one of the available tables and I just pointed to a table and only said “you , sit there! ”. I was surprised about the way he demanded me to sit there without walking me to the table. But I didn’t want to make a fuss out of it. I tried to ask him kindly if we could sit outside, since there were more available tables. But again he pointed to the same table and again said “ no! You sit there! So I went to that table. When he passed by I asked him kindly why he was acting so impolite to me and said things like : “ I am the owner, I decide where you sit “. This went too far and I told my husband to go to another place. We didn’t get the taste of their food, so I can’t tell whether it’s good. We went across the street where we had lovely food...

Because we had lunch here (which was a good experience) we decided to make a reservation for dinner by just walking in. After lunch that day I complimented the owner.

We understood we had to wait for an hour because we did not make the reservation in advance. We came back 50 min later and the owner ignored us while there were many tables available. At the time I told we made a reservation he told us to wait outside while there were many available tables. After a few minutes Italians came in and asked for a table without reservation and they got it instantly. After 20 minutes waiting outside my wife asked if there was a table available already. Since we had been waiting for 20 more minutes. He was very unfriendly and did not even pay attention to my wife and just pointed (without looking at her) sit there. Only that. I sat next to my wife and he came over you sit there and he pointed at the spot in front of my wife. I told him that is not so friendly to be so impolite and that I complimented him with the business after lunch that day. He did not care at all.

Long story short. If you want to be treated like a dog this is your place. For sure the owner will treat you so. All tourists are apparently annoying to him. The owner is very very impolite.

There are many other nice restaurants in la Morra we...

Nestled in the heart of the Langhe region, the drive to Osteria More e Macine alone sets the stage for an incredible dining experience, with rolling vineyards and quaint villages unfolding around every turn. The rustic patio, our go-to spot, welcomes you with a relaxed, casual ambiance that’s perfectly complemented by the friendly staff. The atmosphere is lively, fueled by a great selection of local wines that seem to flow endlessly. This time, I opted for the rabbit, which was tender and well-prepared, though I missed the depth of flavor I’d experienced with similar dishes in Umbria. My wife went for the tarjin with fresh truffles, shaved tableside—a culinary ritual that’s always a treat to watch. Each bite was rich and aromatic, showcasing the region’s finest ingredients. Osteria More e Macine is an authentic experience that feels quintessentially Italian and is a must-visit for anyone looking to savor the spirit of La Morra. Saluti

If you are in the area, you MUST visit this restaurant. The last time I was at this restaurant was in 2014. It was good then, but now it was even better. We had no problems getting a table for dinner or lunch. The employees are skilled and pleasant. The food arrives quickly and the wine list has a good selection with both affordable and pricey options. The menu has a fairly large selection and the food is fantastic. The risotto and pasta is very good and they serve an absolutely fantastic tiramisu. Wow We wanted to share the risotto and they were kind and gave us two small plates ! it was extremely hot when we were there, but the staff were always pleasant even though they were tired from the heat. The last day we went there, we had to go straight to the airport. We didn't have time to visit any wine shops, but Osteria More e Macine let us buy a few bottles to take home. Thank you for the nice experience in LaMorra.
