This is a small little restaurant tucked in a side street off the main strip. The waitress who served us was friendly and spoke English. Everything we ordered was delicious and well priced. The caprese salad was extremely fresh and large enough to feed 2 people. The stuffed mussels came with about 10-12 shells. The red sauce was delicious and had to be soaked up with the table bread. Both pasta dishes tasted like the sea with the amount of seafood in them. The fried mixed seafood plate was freshly fried and came out steaming hot. There was a cover charge of 1-2 euros per person as well.

This restaurant was an extreme disappointment, we truly don’t understand how it achieved more than 2 stars. Unfortunately, the food was simply not good. The caprese salad was awful: the tomato was half green, no olive oil, and mozzarella no flavour. Seafood pasta was offered with no Parmesan, and bread was dry. We ordered a decently expensive bottle of white wine, and were not given ice or a way to keep it cool in the +30 degree weather, ended up not finishing it. Just when you think it couldn’t get worse, the service was horrid - rude servers and zero effort. Noticed other tables were treated the same as well. Not sure if their good reviews has led them to laziness, but you can find better Italian food probably...

We had a fantastic dinner at Antica Osteria dell’Uva in La Spezia! The seafood risotto was rich and perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor and fresh ingredients. The fritto misto was also excellent – crispy, light, and full of variety, including shrimp, squid, and anchovies with vegetables.
